About This Pub
Ah, The Sun In Splendour – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local favourite in the buzz of Notting Hill. From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, the food really steals the show; imagine tucking into a delicious homemade Scotch egg or a satisfying Sunday roast with a cold beer in hand – it's all about those comforting, flavoursome dishes that hit the spot every time. The staff are genuinely lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which adds to that authentic, homely feel. And let's not forget the beer garden; it's a cracking spot for a sunny afternoon, where you can unwind and people-watch to your heart's content. On the flip side, it does tend to get a tad hectic during peak times, so you might find yourself in a bit of a queue if you haven't planned ahead. Plus, if you're after something more adventurous on the menu, it sticks mostly to traditional pub grub, which might not thrill everyone. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable night out – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the minor niggles, and it's just the sort of place that leaves you with a smile.

-
The location is spot on, right on Portobello Road, making it an ideal spot for a laid-back lunch or dinner after exploring the neighbourhood.
Cons
-
It can get a bit crowded on busier evenings, so you might have to wait for a table if you don't book ahead.
-
The menu might not cater extensively to specific dietary needs, as it's more focused on traditional pub fare, which could limit choices for some.

Nice Place with a Beer Garden. Lovely Food, try the Home Made Scotch Eggs- delicious. Lovely People who help you out on whatever you ask.
Inviting restaurant in Notting Hill. The food & service have been good both times we have eaten here. We’ve tried the fish & chips, the meat pie, the sea bass dish, & the seafood linguine.
I know I give very generous reviews, but this restaurant was outstanding. I went to this restaurant with 3 family members and a friend, and they all hreatly enjoyed their time at this place. The food was great, the chicken bacon cheese burger is what I had for lunch, and it was very filling. I left full and satisfied, with extra chips to eat another time. From who I went with, they all said that the food they ate was great, specifically saying they like the sirloin steak meal. The service was great too, the server was nice, and didn't waste time. He got our orders and came at the with all the food in the right order and all coming with good speed. I would estimate the main dishes came out in about 10-15 from ordering them. I sat in the secret gardens, they were very pretty but you would have to come at a less busy time to sit there. And even if you sit there if you are in a group of 5 or more you would most likely need to sit at multiple tables. But even if, the secret garden is a great place to sit and from what I saw the rest of the inside seating seemed very pretty. Great restaurant, great food, great experience. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant, it is a great experience and has great food.
This place is a surprise. We were just passing by and said why not get it and found a great place to have lunch with great Sunday food. Looking at the wall board I found that everyday there is something special there which makes the curiosity even bigger. We had Sunday roast and beer and enjoyed every bit of it. I totally recommend it
beautiful place and very welcoming owners! We were pleasantly surprised by the burgers which were excellent. Thank you for your welcome and your kindness, I will come back during my next visit to London 😊
