About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Prince Albert – it's one of those cosy pubs in Notting Hill that just feels like a proper local gem, mixing traditional British hospitality with a bit of quirky charm, especially with that indie theatre upstairs. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute stars; they're friendly and attentive without hovering, making your visit that much more enjoyable. The food sounds spot on most of the time – think generous portions of flavoursome dishes like a cracking chicken and bacon burger – and the drinks menu is spot on, with everything from classic ales to creative cocktails. It's in such a handy location too, right near some lovely green spaces and markets, and that beer garden is perfect for soaking up the sun with mates. But, to keep it real, there have been a few gripes about slow service and the odd dodgy plate of food that didn't hit the mark, so it might not be your best bet if you're in a rush or after perfection every time. All in all, with a solid 4.3 rating, I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and a bite – just go with the flow and you're likely to have a great time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, really making you feel welcome like you're chatting with old mates.
  • The food is generally delicious with generous portions and plenty of flavour, especially the burgers and other classics.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, from proper pints to well-crafted cocktails, so there's something for everyone.
  • It's in a brilliant spot in Notting Hill, just a stone's throw from Kensington Gardens and Portobello Market, perfect for a wander afterwards.
  • The courtyard beer garden is an absolute treat for sunny days, ideal for al-fresco dining or just relaxing with a drink.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit slow at times, even when it's not too busy, which might put a dampener on things.
  • Some food items have fallen short in reviews, like cold or fishy dishes that didn't live up to expectations.
  • Prices are on the moderate side, which might feel a tad steep if you're after something more budget-friendly.

Had a great experience at this place! The location is really nice, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The waiter Max was incredibly friendly and attentive. I went for the chicken & bacon burger, and it was delicious. Would definitely come back!

Absolutely love this place! The food is consistently excellent — generous portions, cooked to perfection, and full of flavour. The drink selection is top-notch, with something for everyone, whether you’re after a classic pint or a well-crafted cocktail. What really sets this pub apart, though, is the service. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely go out of their way to make you feel at home. Special mention to Naomi, the Assistant Manager — she’s fantastic. Warm, professional, and always on the ball. Her attention to detail and positive attitude really elevate the experience. The atmosphere is just right too — cosy, lively without being too loud, and perfect whether you’re in for a quick drink or a full evening out. In addition the beer garden is a great sun trap when it decides to come out! I can’t recommend it enough!

To be honest, it's not easy for a Spaniard to write an opinion about food in a London establishment. But I'm going to try to be totally fair. First of all, we are talking about a price that is approximately double that in Spain and the original offer is very different and less varied. Having said that, I have to say that the experience at The Prince Albert was very positive. A comfortable place, with a traditional and relaxed atmosphere, at least at the time we went. Good attention from the staff and what surprised me was the food. The house specials, highly recommended. We ordered a cod and a salmon dish, I can't remember the names of the dishes, and I must admit they were very good. Therefore, and in the absence of further experience with the establishment, I will rate it a 5, but it should be 4+.

This place was a joke- drinks good, staff ok, slow service for food even in quiet times. calamari came fishy and cold, asked for it to be reheated and it was literally microwaved and came back soggy. avocado salad, mango was off and avocado hard, chips cold with about a gram of parmesan, we didnt eat the food and weren’t even asked if all was fine.
