About This Pub

Ah, The Station – it's one of those classic pubs that you stumble upon and think, 'This could be a great spot for a pint.' From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the bar staff are absolute gems, always polite and making you feel like part of the crowd, especially with the new team in charge. The drinks selection is spot on, and at fair prices too, so you won't break the bank just for a round. Plus, the beer garden is a hidden little treat for when the weather's on your side, and the pool table and TVs keep things lively without any fuss. It's got that warm, homely vibe with the jukebox playing tunes that get everyone in the mood. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – I've heard some stories about service not being as fair as it should be, which is a real shame and might put some folks off. Then there's the cleanliness; the upholstery and carpets are a bit of a mess, and the toilets are honestly grim with that mouldy smell lingering about. Overall, with a solid 4.1 rating, it's worth popping in if you're nearby, but maybe keep an eye out for those niggles and head elsewhere if you're after something spotless. Still, for a no-frills night with mates, it holds its own.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The bar staff are really friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • There's a great selection of drinks at fair prices, perfect for a casual night out with mates.
  • The beer garden is a lovely, private spot to relax and chat, especially on a nice day.
  • You'll find a pool table and plenty of TVs, which add to the fun and make it easy to catch the game or have a laugh.
  • It has a cosy atmosphere with good music on the jukebox, giving it that warm, local pub vibe.
Cons
  • There have been reports of unfair service, like not serving people in order, which can leave a bad taste.
  • The place can be quite dirty, with filthy upholstery and carpets that look like they haven't seen a clean in ages.
  • The toilets are in a right state, smelling and covered in mould, which really lets the side down.

Was rather offended why my son who has down syndrome politely waited at the bar. I got served before him even though he was first. I then was told that even though he was first he had to wait until the regulars get served first. When I said that’s not right it should be first come first served I was told it doesn’t work like that as the regulars go in every day. I’ve never heard this before

Absolutely disgusting place. Filthy upholstery. The carpets if that what you call them are covered in years of booze. Black . Black black.the toilets stink covered in mold. Who ever owns or runs this pig sty.shouldnt be let loose in a public service establishment. You should be embarrassed in allllll corners of hygiene 🤢
