About This Pub
Oh, The Junction – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles on a chilly evening, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute gems, always helpful and cheerful, which really makes the place feel like a proper community spot. The real ales and ciders are spot on, with that CAMRA award shining through in the quality, and the snug atmosphere with open fires is just ideal for sinking into a chat with mates. They've got music nights too, which adds a nice touch of entertainment without overwhelming the traditional vibe. On the flip side, it's cash only, which can be a right faff if you're out and about with just your card, and the website's a bit of a head-scratcher – not quite what you'd expect, so it might leave you puzzled before you even step inside. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after an authentic pub experience, but do pop in prepared for those little niggles. You'd probably have a great time if you're up for a bit of the old-school charm in Castleford.

I’ve been living at the junction for almost 2 years and it has been lovely. Istvan has been the most helpful towards me and does so with a smile always!
Traditional real ale pub, renovated over last few years with re-cycled materials giving snug, cosy feel with open fires. Nice range of hand pulled beers served from the wood and traditional ciders. CAMRA award winner. Occasional music nights, usually Friday and open sessions on Sunday afternoons. No food, loud music or TVs. Pet friendly. Superb locally produced pickles, preserves and eggs can also be purchased. 👍🍻🍻
Excellent cask ales. Good traditional pub.
Classic traditional pub with its coal fires stoked up and Northern Soul belting out this afternoon. Good, cheap cask ale pouring - cash only.
