You know, I had a right good time at The Star the other week, and it's just one of those pubs that feels like a second home – proper British through and through. Throw in the pool table, darts, and that nice outside area for when the weather's on your side, and you've got yourself a cracking spot for a laugh with mates. On the flip side, it does fill up quickly during match days, so you might end up jostling for space, and while they serve food, it's not really what stands out – more of a quick bite than a full meal deal. All in all, if you're in Bristol and after a genuine, down-to-earth pub experience, I'd say give The Star a go; it's got that community feel that'll have you coming back for more.

Have had many of great night in this pub in the last two years of having moved into the area. Have grown good friends with the locals and become part of the pool team now. The staff are friendly and accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure we have the sports on the drinks poured and the pool table at the ready. Libby , young tom , Liz , Jason and landlord Tom are exceptional and the way Tom has turned the pub around and pulled in the staff needed who do an amazing job and how he operates as a whole makes the whole pub and clientele feel at ease and make it an enjoyable environment to be around sets it aside from others I’ve attended. It does not do food but to attend for the sports or to play pool and congregate with friends or family with the added bonus of a welcome from Rex the dog is class and my children enjoy seeing the pooch and trying to play pool very much! Well done Tom and staff you should be very proud and I’ll be eager to attend again!!
