About This Pub
Ah, The Stag and Three Horseshoes – it's one of those classic pubs in Birmingham that really knows how to make you feel at home, you know? From what I've gathered, it's got this lovely welcoming atmosphere where you can pop in for a bite, catch up with friends, or even enjoy some live music without breaking the bank. The food stands out a mile; their sizzling skillets and burgers are absolute winners, and they've got solid options for veggies and vegans too, all at prices that feel fair and straightforward. The staff are mostly brilliant, always ready to lend a hand or chat, which makes for a really pleasant visit. Plus, it's great to see them giving back to the local community with fundraising and free spaces for groups. But, let's be honest, it's not all sunshine – there have been a few grumbles about staff not always being in the best mood, or drinks coming in smaller glasses than expected, which might leave you wanting more. And while it's a solid spot, it does sound like it could do with a freshen-up soon, as some folks have noted it's looking a tad tired. Overall, I'd say it's worth a go if you're after a reliable pub experience in the area, just keep those little hiccups in mind for a balanced night out.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making it feel like a proper local spot where everyone can relax and have a good time.
-
The food is spot on – think delicious sizzling skillets, flame-grilled burgers, and even great vegan and vegetarian options, all at honest, fair prices.
-
Staff are generally fantastic, always helpful and going the extra mile, like sorting out table bookings with ease or recommending tasty dishes.
-
It's brilliant value for money, with deals like two meals for £12, and they're involved in the community, supporting charities and offering their function area for free.
-
A top choice for all sorts of occasions, whether it's catching up with mates over drinks, enjoying live music, or a family meal.
Cons
-
Some staff can seem a bit off on certain days, with reports of them being in a mood or not as attentive as you'd hope.
-
Drinks portions might be on the small side, like getting vodka and cokes in tiny glasses, which could leave you feeling short-changed.
-
The place has had mentions of needing a bit of a spruce-up, as it's due for a refurbishment, so it might not feel as fresh as it could be right now.
-
Occasionally, you might pick up on some awkward vibes, like feeling stared at by management, which can put a damper on the experience.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
If you want to save your time and money don’t go here, the staff are always in a “mood” (not happy and kept bumping into me), i had 3 vodka and coke and two of them were in small milk glasses, the i assume manager (they wore black when i was there) gave me stares and i always felt judged from her and some other employees, the portions with the drinks were horrible and most of the time i was there it be a really bad experience, iv gone there 4 times now and i do not think its somewhere you want to go, daytime is better and its a decent place to eat with family and friends but DO NOT GO AT NIGHT, go to somewhere else or just not at all!!!.
A very nice pub for food, drinks and value for money!! Staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The 2 meals for £12 were great. I initially thought the place needed some work doing but the man at the bar with the glasses told me they're getting a refurbishment in November which is good to hear, I'll definitely return during the festive period to check out the changes!!
The atmosphere and the staff are great. The live music is always unreal. The food is top class you won’t get anywhere better in Quinton. The prices are respectable for the service you receive. I’ve always been treated great when I come to the stag I would recommend for anyone looking for good food or good drinks
Booked a table via the online service, changed it a few times which wasn't a problem at all, so easy to use. The table was ready when we got there. The food was good and the service was good. The staff were more than helpful in this very busy pub.
