About This Pub

Ah, The Six Bells – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub in Northfleet, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, the hosts are absolute gems, always topping up the buffet and making everyone feel welcome, which really sets the tone for a great night out. That pint of Guinness gets rave reviews; it's spot on, apparently, and pairs nicely with the tasty, no-fuss pub food that's spot on for a casual meal. The beer garden sounds brilliant for families, with plenty of space and a play area for the kids, though it's a shame it's a tad outdated – still, folks seem to make the most of it. On the flip side, if you're planning a visit, keep in mind they might not have the full menu available sometimes, which could be a bit of a letdown if you're in the mood for variety. Overall, it's got that 4.3 rating for a reason – it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening, and I'd say it's worth popping in for the atmosphere alone, as long as you're okay with keeping things simple.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They pour a cracking pint of Guinness – it's been hailed as one of the best outside Dublin, which is high praise indeed!
  • The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, perfect for a quiet drink or catching up with mates in a congenial setting.
  • It's family-friendly with a spacious beer garden and a kids' play area, great for sunny days out.
  • The food is solid pub grub that's always tasty, even if it's kept simple and straightforward.
Cons
  • The kids' play equipment in the garden is a bit outdated, so it might not be the most exciting for little ones these days.
  • They've had a restricted menu at times, which could limit your choices if you're after something specific – might be temporary, though.

The Six Bells is one of the Few original pubs still around Northfleet/Gravesend, past & present landlords have always been very friendly. It's a great little pub for a quiet drink or meal, or even a family event. There is a large beer garden with a children's play area. And lots of parking at the rear. Well worth a visit.

I love this pub. The beer garden is a great size. The kids play equipment is pretty outdated but they love it anyway. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating. The food is basic pub grub but always very tasty. They're running a restricted menu atm though, I'm guessing because of covid? Which is a bit of a shame as I used to like having their sharing platter! Will spend many a summers afternoon here, as I have for years!
