About This Pub

Ah, The Mole Hole Micro Pub – it's one of those places that just warms your cockles the moment you step in. Tucked away on the High Street in Gravesend, it's got this charming basement feel that makes it feel like your own secret spot. The beers are top drawer, with a great range of cask ales and ciders that really hit the spot, and at inexpensive prices too, so you won't feel like you're splashing out. The staff are gems, always up for a natter and knowing their stuff about the drinks, which adds to that friendly, community vibe. And don't miss the open mic nights – they've got some cracking performances that can turn a quiet evening into something memorable. On the flip side, it's only open Thursday to Sunday with set hours, so planning ahead is a must if you're keen to pop in. Plus, being a bit hidden downstairs, it might take a second glance to find, and space can be limited if it gets busy. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers looking for good drinks and good company, but just keep those opening times in mind to avoid disappointment.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to chat, making you feel right at home.
  • They've got a cracking selection of cask ales, local ciders, and a few gins that are spot on for a proper pint or a refreshing tipple.
  • The open mic nights are a real highlight, with some talented acts that make for a fun, lively evening.
  • It's super affordable, so you can enjoy a great night out without breaking the bank.
  • Dog-friendly and welcoming to everyone, with a cosy, hidden basement vibe that feels like a secret gem in Gravesend.
Cons
  • It's only open four days a week with fairly limited hours, which might not work if you're looking for a spontaneous midweek visit.
  • The location down the stairs can be a bit tricky to spot, so you might miss it if you're not paying attention.
  • From what I've seen, it's a smaller spot, so it could get cosy on busier nights and might not suit larger groups.

Open mic night is a proper eye opener. Whilst not every act nails it those that do do. A real hidden treasure.

Great venue that happened to have an open mic night when I was visiting Gravesend. Really friendly staff and atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. Definitely recommended when in the Gravesend Heritage Quarter

I’m not sure where to start with this bar, right on the main strip, secret basement bar with great beers and an incredible staircase that open into a cave. This place is dog friendly and even more human friendly. The bar staff couldn’t do more to help and really know their stuff. Don’t leave gravesend without going here.
