About This Pub
Ah, The Sir Henry Newbolt, it's one of those reliable Wetherspoons spots that you can always count on for a good value pint or meal without breaking the bank. I love how wallet-friendly it is; you can grab a hearty all-day breakfast with drinks for next to nothing, and it's just the ticket for a laid-back afternoon with mates. The staff are often spot on, with some really going the extra mile to make you feel at home, especially if you've got kids in tow – it's nice to see a place that's so family-oriented. Plus, it's generally a peaceful vibe, no dramas or disturbances to spoil the fun. On the flip side, though, the food isn't always perfect; I've heard tales of overcooked eggs and burnt bits that could put a damper on things, and not every server is in the cheeriest mood, which might leave you feeling a tad underwhelmed. Still, with its central location and those cracking deals, it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just keep your expectations realistic and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The prices are incredibly affordable, making it a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly meal or drink – like getting an all-day breakfast with a refillable coffee for just over a tenner!
-
The staff can be really welcoming and accommodating, with some going above and beyond to make your visit special, especially if you're with the family.
-
It's a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy decent food and drinks without any hassle or trouble, perfect for a casual catch-up.
-
They've got a good selection of options, and it's family-friendly, so you don't have to worry about bringing the little ones along.
Cons
-
Food quality can be hit or miss; some dishes might turn up overcooked or not quite right, like burnt toast or rubbery eggs, which is a shame for such good value.
-
Not all the staff are as cheerful – you might encounter someone who's a bit miserable and off-putting, which can dampen the experience.
-
The beer garden is a bit lacking, so if you're after somewhere to enjoy a pint outside, it might not quite hit the mark.

This has to be one of the cheapest Wetherspoons in the country. We had the all day breakfast meal with included a drink,we chose the refillable coffee option. The bill was £10.90 Although we only had 2 coffees each,we could have stayed much longer and had tea or hot chocolate too!! Well done Wetherspoons for having a decaffeinated option on the machine too.
This site is at the end of the main shopping street but is always pretty busy. We didn't have to wait long for our food though.
It could probably benefit from new carpet and furniture but then the prices would have to increase!!
I recommend a trip to Bilston Market and lunch here.
Probably the best wetherspoons in the area for drinks and food. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Patrons are decent too, never been bothered by anyone and never seen any trouble in here. A friendly place for children to eat too without any worries. Not much of a beer garden but it's enough space to have a cig and a drink in the sun. Would recommend
I come here when in the area and always had a good experience.
I am leaving this review mainly to say a special thank you to Vicky who I thought was the manager at first went above and beyond with her customer service and made my daughter a hot chocolate she really enjoyed. My daughter is fussy with her hot chocolate.
Thank you again for making my daughter happy 😊
Went for breakfast this morning (20/12) with my partner. The bar staff were very good, as was the man who brought the food out, and the food was very nice. However, the female member of staff that was clearing the tables was very miserable and unfriendly. I'm not sure if she's new, because I haven't seen her before, and I know that clearing tables probably isn't a great job, but there's no need to take it out on the customers that are paying your wages.
We use a lot of different Wetherspoons and this one is definitely the worst, I have attach a image so you can see, one egg had broken but that didn't stop them serving it, the other has cooked so much the yoke was like rubber, the toash was black on one side on all the slices, the bacon was black on one side. It just showed that the cook did not care about what was going out, the Pepsi max was over gassed so tasted off. I'm just glad that we will never need to come back here. The image shows the good side of the bacon and toast as it was black on the underside
