About This Pub

Ah, the Bankfield Inn – it's one of those pubs that really knows how to make you feel welcome, isn't it? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff are just brilliant; they're always on hand with a warm hello and quick to sort out any questions, which makes popping in for a bite feel like catching up with old friends. The food's a highlight too – think hearty pub classics served piping hot and full of flavour, and with offers like 30% off mains, it's easy to see why folks keep coming back. Plus, it's got that family touch with a play area for the little ones and a lovely garden for soaking up the sun, making it a great spot for a relaxed afternoon or evening with the gang. On the flip side, though, it does have its moments; I've heard it can get a bit noisy or attract a crowd that's not always up for a quiet chat, which might spoil the mood if you're after something more chilled. And let's be honest, the toilets could do with a bit more attention to keep things tidy. Overall, it's a solid choice for good value and a laugh, but if you're seeking a serene spot, you might want to check the vibe first – still, I'd say it's worth a visit for the positives alone!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, always ready with a smile and happy to help out, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is spot on – piping hot, tasty classics like burgers and steaks, and they've got great deals like 30% off mains, which is a real treat.
  • It's super family-friendly with a little play area for the kids outside, plus a nice pub garden where you can enjoy a meal in the fresh air.
  • Service is quick and efficient, with options like ordering via QR code at the table, which makes things hassle-free.
  • The atmosphere is generally warm and inviting, perfect for a laid-back lunch, catching up with mates, or even watching live sports.
Cons
  • It can get a bit rowdy at times, especially if it's your local and the crowd isn't always the most pleasant, which might put you off for a quiet meal.
  • The toilets, particularly the women's ones, aren't always as clean as you'd hope, which is a bit of a letdown.
  • While it's good for a quick bite, it might not be the most relaxing spot if you're after a peaceful evening out.

I come here quite often as it’s my local, it’s good for just a bite to eat with the kids. I wouldn’t say it’s the most pleasant place to sit and enjoy food as most the time it’s rowdy or just attracts the wrong people. But the food is always good quality and the staff are really pleasant and are always polite. I would say the menu could do with changing as the food is pretty much standard. But overall I enjoy coming here for easy quick food for the kids

I enjoy the atmosphere at this pub and it’s an ideal location. Tracy, esp, has been amazing. She went out of her way to be really helpful as I needed my phone charging, she advised me how to retrieve my info to get a 30% discount code, and generally made my afternoon so much better. Lovely lady, will be back soon. The great grub was just a bonus. 🤗

Came here for lunch today, the barman who was named Tom, helped us a lot with our order. He recommended dishes we would never have thought of having, was truly inspirational. He made this the best meal on a Saturday lunch ever. The meal and the service was truly an amazing experience. We will be back, as an experiance like this should not experienced once in your life.

delicious and hot food. served very quickly . the possibility of ordering at the table by the qr code. The only downside: the women's toilet could be cleaner.
