About This Pub

Ah, The Market Tavern in Bilston is one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a straightforward, enjoyable night out. From the reviews, it's clear folks love the staff – they're always cheerful and on point, making sure you're served up a pint without any bother. The beers are spot on, with great value offers that won't dent your wallet, and there's a real community feel with live sports adding to the excitement. It's a proper old-school boozer where you can kick back and chat with the regulars. On the downside, it doesn't seem to go beyond the basics; if you're fancying something a bit more upscale or looking for grub to go with your drink, you might find it lacking. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone after a no-fuss pint and a warm atmosphere – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area!

Pros and Cons

Cons
  • It might come across as a bit basic if you're after something more modern or trendy, like fancy cocktails or the latest craft brews

  • Opening hours can vary a tad, especially on Sundays, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid any surprises

This place has become my home away from home whilst I am in the area from London. It encapsulates everything you want from a local boozer with great beer, great service and a decent atmosphere no matter what the time or the day. We need more pubs to learn from this example and the business will boom again Well done guys, keep up the hard work it is working for the benefit of all who visit

Popped in for a quick pint before going in The Robin for a gig. Selection of lagers, reasonably priced. Nice clean boozer, staff were excellent.

Visited yesterday just for a quick one, it's unusual for me not to be driving so thought we'd make the most of it. 11:30ish (am) but quite busy, proper old school boozer. Served quickly and found a quiet spot to sit and take in our surroundings. There's definitely a core of hardened regulars, laughing joking and sharing. One lady left her purse in the disabled toilets and one of the regulars who want in as she came out called her back to get it. Not bad prices on the drinks and people were taking their own food in (as I've seen in some of the old school boozers I regularly frequent.) Somewhere I'd not hesitate to visit again if in the area and not driving but not somewhere I'd make a special effort to visit.
