About This Pub

Ah, The Shack 68, it's one of those places that just pulls you in with its welcoming vibe right in the heart of Twickenham. From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, it's spot on for a proper night out – think delicious cocktails during happy hour that won't break the bank, and food deals like free burgers with a pint on Fridays that make you feel like you've struck gold. The sports screenings are a highlight; whether it's rugby or football, it's clear they know how to get the crowd going, and adding in virtual darts or live DJs on the weekends turns it into a proper party. Folks have raved about how accommodating the team is for events, like sorting out a birthday bash or even a wedding reception, which sounds like they really go the extra mile to make memories. But, let's keep it real, it does get heaving on match days, so if you're after a quiet chat, you might find it a bit too lively. Service can be mixed – some experiences are brilliant, while others note it could be warmer – and the hours listed are a bit of a puzzle, so planning ahead is key. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laugh and some great food, but just temper your expectations on busier nights to keep things enjoyable.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The cocktails are an absolute treat, especially during happy hour with deals like 2-4-£12 – perfect for kicking off the evening with friends.
  • Their food specials, such as Free Burger Fridays and unlimited wings on Wednesdays, are brilliant value and really hit the spot for a casual bite.
  • It's a top spot for sports fans, with live screenings of rugby and football, making it feel like a proper community hub during big games.
  • The virtual darts and live DJs on weekends add a fun, energetic vibe – ideal for letting loose and having a laugh with your group.
  • They handle events like birthdays and weddings really well, with staff going the extra mile to make things special, as shared in some glowing reviews.
Cons
  • It can get pretty packed on match days, which might make it a bit overwhelming if you're after a relaxed pint.
  • Service varies a touch; while some staff are fantastic, others might not be as welcoming, based on a few honest comments.
  • The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what's listed, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any surprises.
  • With no recent reviews in the last six months, it's hard to say if things have stayed the same or shifted a bit since the last buzz.

A charming and cosy pub conveniently located near Twickenham Station. They offer a great mix of sports on screen, including football, rugby, and more. The beer and spirits selection is impressive, and the chicken burger I had was absolutely delicious. For added fun, they have virtual darts upstairs. A fantastic spot all around - highly recommended!

We booked the shack for our evening wedding reception. All our guests had a fab time and really enjoyed the darts. Terri & team were very accommodating and we were able to get in the day before to decorate. We’d absolutely book this venue again for a private party!! Thank you so much Terri and shout out to Jack for being a fab bartender all evening!

The food and atomsphere is very nice. More of a bar than a restaurent so if you want to go for an relaxed drinking outing very good. Some of the waiting staff could be friendlier. But all in all great experience recommend.Very nice that the chef offered me chocolate shots on my birthday as well.🙂

Great bar before the rugby at Twickenham. Will get very crowded on match day. Had a few beers and a burger....wjivh was very tasty indeed. Marquee at the rear gives more shelter with multiple tv's to watch games on.
