About This Pub

Ah, The Seabirds – it's one of those pubs that just warms you up on a visit to Bridlington. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff really go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're there for a quick drink or a full meal. The food stands out as a real highlight; that carvery comes highly recommended and at such a steal for £12.50, it's no wonder folks are raving about it. Plus, with a decent range of beers and the fact it's dog-friendly, it's spot on for a relaxed afternoon or evening out. They even handle bookings smoothly through Facebook, which is handy for sorting things in advance. On the other hand, it's not all smooth sailing – a couple of reviews mentioned getting caught out by strict policies on when you need to order, especially if the place is quiet, which could put a bit of a damper on things if you're not punctual. And if you're thinking of using it as a base for camping, bear in mind there might not be much in the way of facilities once they've shut up shop. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good time, but I'd say plan your visit carefully to make the most of it – it's got that friendly pub feel we all love, with just a few quirks to navigate.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
  • The food is spot on – think delicious carvery and great value at just £12.50 a pop, with plenty of options to choose from
  • They've got a solid selection of beers and lagers, perfect for enjoying a proper pint
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the outing
  • The atmosphere is inclusive, whether you're popping in solo or with a group, and they make booking straightforward via Facebook
Cons
  • There can be strict rules around ordering times, like needing to get your food in before a certain hour, which might feel a bit rigid if you're running late
  • If you're staying in a camper, facilities might be limited when the pub's closed, so it's not ideal for overnight stops without planning ahead
  • The operating hours seem a tad inconsistent at times, which could lead to some confusion about when it's best to drop by

We were travelling from Sheffield and had a table booked for 730. As we were running 10 minutes late, the rest of the group of 8 went leaving 2 of us to arrive at 740. The diners in the restaurant were greeted with a 'well you really need to order before 745'. The restaurant was empty at 9pm so I'm not sure it was necessary to make the table feel like we were rushed. It caused a debate on whether we were ok to order a starter. I insisted we did. It's the 3rd time we've been and every time we have had some shortness for one thing of another. The food is ok. I had cod bits for starters which were nice, and seabass for main which I've had before and is nice. The rest of the table had a mixure of garlic breads, nachos for starters (the nachos had an excellent chilli on-nice and spicy). The mains, largely speaking for the rest of the table were hit and miss. The lasagne looked a lot nicer than it tasted. The ragu was too runny and created a slop pile under melted cheese. The chilli was really nice that my dad had the veggy pie was also good. 2 diners had burgers which I'm informed werew average. We were never offered another drink. We had to collar service. We felt we were rushed a bit from the offing and the food was hit and miss. The bill for 8 people was £275 and I'm not sure the service and food match the prices. I will add here that the portions are very large and in all fairness we could have shared 4 starters or not had any all and still been full. It has potential to be a great place to eat, but refining the the cooking a little and having 1 or 2 more staff to look after the guests would go a long way to improving the place. I left a tip because the serving staff were busy and I felt a little understaffed. Given all that I thought they did a relatively good job, I just think the management need to work on customer experience a little more.

Had a great two nights. Sunday carvery was delicious and good value for money. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I can’t wait to see them again. The drinks were great too! 😊🍻🍺🥂 We booked ahead for the stopover as it does get busy.

As a solo traveller you like to feels welcome and comfortable when in a pub. These guys did. Very good communication via FB for when booking to stay in the carpark in my camper (no facilities when the pub is closed no EH). Welcoming when entering the pub and encourage you to join in if they have anything on. Whilst I stayed they were playing darts and pool and I was invited to join in and did so. Felt very safe with not only the staff but other customers too, all friendly. Will be going back here again in 2025. 10 minute walk into town centre or half hour walk to the old town

Just got a drink and sat outside as it was a nice day. Pub is dog friendly so a plus from me on that point. Also had a decent selection of berrs & lagers.
