If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, this is not for you!
We may have just been unlucky with our neighbours but you can hear every laugh, cry, sneeze, nose blow, children jumping on the beds etc..
The cleanliness of the room could have been better too but it was far from disgusting; I just notice everything! Little things like the mirrors being streaky and behind the bathroom door hadn't been cleaned properly..it's just attention to detail. In past experience, Premier Inn ,are, as a rule, very good with cleanliness, so I was a little surprised.
The other thing that surprised me, was the lack of staff on reception. I'm completely aware that there's an electronic check in system in place, but it's nice to speak to a person on arrival. To get the attention of a member of staff, you have to ring a bell on reception and it did take a while for someone to come through and speak to us. It just got me wondering what would happen in the event of an emergency.
It certainly wasn't an awful stay but it could have been better, mostly by people being aware of the fact they're not the only people in the building!!
I dont usually leave reviews but had to for this PI. The standard of this chain has dropped overall since covid when it comes to cleanliness and staff recruitment. However, this PI had professional desk staff, managed to check me in early, clean room and made the check in process very smooth. Parking is paid by the (new) machine outside reception at £5 a night and you can pay for the entire duration of your stay and come and go as you please. Other PIs should look to the running of this one for inspiration!
We booked a Premier Plus Room with a sea view, the room was lovely, comfortable and quiet at night. Parking is only £3 for 24 hours which is pretty good. There wasn't many staff around in reception or the restaurant which was the reason why I gave 4 stars. We would stop here again in the future.
Typical Premier Inn on the seafront in Bridlington. My only criticism would be is that the pub/restaurant is looking very tired. And seems to be constantly under staffed. They have obviously had a water leak through the ceiling which hasn't been painted and looks scruffy. It also needs a good clean, with cobwebs on the light fittings. Saying that we had a meal, which was very nice, but a little slow because they were short staffed we were told. Items at breakfast were running out, because there wasn't enough staff to keep everything topped up. This is a pity because the staff are very helpful.
A good hotel, parking is chargeable but it's only £3 per stay. There's also plenty of it. The hotel is right by the seafront. Make sure if you want a sea view, you select the right room when booking.
The room was very comfortable as usual, although I really don't like not being able to open the window. The ventilation controls only go down to 19c, which is warm at night. I asked for our room to be on cold air only, which helps in the winter. The room was clean and well presented.
Service was good, although it's not always easy to speak to someone at reception.
The breakfast was delicious and there was lots of choice.
