About This Pub
Ah, The Salisbury – it's one of those pubs that just pulls you in with its historic charm and that electric buzz in the air. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's spot on for a fun night out; the atmosphere is infectious, with a real rock and roll edge that had one chap from Hull raving about it after a gig. The cask ales are a highlight too – bold and flavoursome, just what you'd hope for in a traditional ale house. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect roses; the music pumps up pretty loud, which is brilliant if you're there to let loose, but it can make having a proper chinwag with your mates a right challenge, as one reviewer pointed out. And with it being so popular, especially among the student lot, you might find yourself elbow-to-elbow in a crowd, which isn't ideal if you're after a more chilled vibe. Overall, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a lively pint in Manchester, but if you're seeking something quieter, you might want to pop in on a less busy evening or keep an eye on the schedule.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's got that lively, rock and roll vibe that really gets you in the mood for a good night out.
-
They've got a cracking selection of cask ales, perfect if you're after something traditional and tasty to sip on.
-
It's a historic spot in Manchester, with a welcoming feel that makes you want to come back for more, especially if you're into live music or just a buzzing crowd.
Cons
-
The music can be a bit too loud at times, making it tough to chat with mates without shouting over the noise.
-
It often gets packed, especially with the student crowd, so you might struggle to find a seat or enjoy a quiet pint.
-
While it's got a great energy, it might not suit everyone if you're looking for a more relaxed, conversation-friendly pub experience.

Nice pub in Manchester. It was full when we came
Historic pub in the old 'little Ireland ' area. Music, not my cup of tea, very loud! Very difficult to have a conversation. Think it caters to the student population nowadays.
Was in Manchester last Friday for a gig. Went in here with my brother and I absolutely loved it. I'm from Hull so not much of a nightlife. The atmosphere in here was absolutely brilliant, great choice of cask ales and like someone has already mentioned, it has a rock and role vibe. I love my rock music and it was fitting to end up in here after seeing a rock band play at the 02 arena. Staff very friendly and despite it been heaving service was quick and efficient. Honestly I don't get much further then Hull, and the pubs in Manchester are just worlds apart from what I'm used to, the Salisbury has left a very positive effect on me. Can't wait to visit again when I'm next in Manchester.
Stopped in for a few pints. What a good Saturday night experience. People were having a great time. Loud music and louder women. Tasty pints😁 Didn't have any pizza
Love that I stumbled across The Salisbury!
This traditional pub may look small from the outside but don't be deceived!
Great atmosphere and a bold selection of cask ales!
Waiting for a train at Oxford and got a few minutes to spare then I'd highly recommend you bob down to The Salisbury!
