About This Pub
Ah, The Rumblingwell – what a lovely little find in Dunfermline! I have to say, it's one of those pubs that just gets it right for a casual day out. The staff are so friendly and chatty, really making you feel like part of the gang, and the food is an absolute treat – I mean, where else can you get a cracking steak pie or a Balmoral chicken for such reasonable prices? It's got that perfect family-friendly buzz, with plenty of options for kids and even the dogs getting a warm reception with water bowls at the ready. The beer garden's a nice touch for sunnier days, and with free WiFi, it's easy to settle in for a while. On the flip side, the opening times can be a tad confusing from what's listed, so you'd want to double-check to avoid turning up when it's not quite hopping. And if it's a really lively night you're after, it might feel a bit more laid-back than some places. All in all, it's a solid choice for good grub and good times – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The food is delicious and great value for money – think hearty pub classics like steak pie and gammon that won't break the bank.
-
It's a fantastic spot for families, with a child-friendly vibe and even options for the little ones that are award-winning.
-
Dog owners will love it; it's properly dog-friendly with water bowls and a welcoming attitude for your furry mates.
-
The atmosphere is spot on for catching up with friends, with a cosy beer garden, free WiFi, and a good selection of drinks including beers, wines, and low or no-alcohol choices.
Cons
-
The operating hours listed seem a bit muddled, so it's worth checking in advance to avoid any surprises.
-
It might get quite busy at peak times, which could mean a wait for food or a table, especially if you're popping in spontaneously.
-
While the drinks selection is solid, it doesn't feel overly adventurous, so if you're after something really unique, you might need to look elsewhere.

I spent a really enjoyable afternoon here. The staff are lovely, very friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the food I had was lovely. I’ll definitely be back!
Food was excellent value and of a good quality 2 mains Steak pie & mash and Gammon steak and chips for £16.50. Landlady was very welcoming and was nice and chatty. Background music being played was amazing. This will now be my go to for good pub food. Highly recommend.
Popped in this evening for some food with a colleague. Lovely food, started with some small plates & decided on the Balmoral chicken for my main, delicious.
Unfortunately no room left for a dessert, tempting as they were, so rounded off the meal with a good Americano.
Spot on friendly, attentive service from Vicki and the other young lady working who's name I didn't catch (sorry).
Dog Friendly! AMAZING Food and good prices and friendly staff! 🐕 🐕 were even offered a bowl of water and we were made to feel welcome. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area. We will come again!
Lovely staff, delicious food and a really nice place to visit. Best tuna mayo toastie for miles and desserts to ignore that diet for. Best choux pastry ever.
