About This Pub
Ah, the Auld Classic Bar – it's one of those unassuming spots that really grows on you once you're inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this brilliant, cosy feel that's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint, especially with the friendly staff and lively locals adding to the charm. The prices are a real winner too; you can enjoy a cold one without worrying about the cost, and there's plenty to keep you entertained, like belting out tunes on karaoke night or challenging someone to a game of pool. On the flip side, though, it's strictly cash only, which might leave you scrambling for an ATM if you're not prepared, and the food options are quite limited – think simple toasties and crisps rather than a full menu. Plus, it's tucked away in a housing area, so it might not be the easiest place to stumble upon if you're new to the area. All in all, if you're after an authentic, no-frills pub experience with a good laugh, it's worth seeking out, but maybe plan ahead for those practical bits.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and full of fun, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got a cracking atmosphere – cosy, welcoming, and just what you'd expect from a proper local spot.
-
Prices are spot on for a budget-friendly night out, with affordable drinks that won't break the bank.
-
Loads of entertainment on offer, like a pool table, jukebox, dart board, and even karaoke nights that keep things lively.
Cons
-
It's cash only, which is a bit of a faff if you're used to tapping your card and don't have notes to hand.
-
Food-wise, it's pretty basic – just toasties and crisps, so you might need to head elsewhere for a proper meal.
-
The location's a tad out of the way in a housing scheme, which could make it tricky to find if you're not local.

The Auld Classic is a pub that is definately a hidden gem.A small pub (only one bar)it is in the middle of a housing scheme and is very popular with the locals. Not busy through the week it comes alive at weekend and is normally very busy.Worth a visit if you can find it.😃
A great local pub. Friendly staff & regulars. Lots of fun at Gillian's Karaoke (first Saturday of every month, 21.00 - midnight).
Cheapest Tennents Lager I've come across.
A wee bit off the beaten track, but only a short walk from the Town Centre for taxis and late night food, if you're prone to "the munchies"!
