About This Pub
Oh, The Royal Oak in Bath is just one of those pubs that warms your heart the moment you step inside, isn't it? It's an award-winning spot that's all about celebrating real ales and ciders, with their own brewery adding that extra special touch – think Downton Chimera IPA and a host of guest brews that keep things exciting. The staff are absolute gems, always ready with a smile and a bit of banter, making you feel like you're catching up with old mates. That beer garden is a proper sun-trap, especially when the locals fire up the BBQ in summer, and it's so family and dog-friendly that it's easy to make it a full day out. On the downside, it seems like it's not open right now, which is a bit of a letdown, and the hours can be tricky if you're not planning ahead. Still, when it's buzzing, it's a brilliant spot for a relaxed pint or two – I'd say it's well worth keeping an eye on for when things pick up again.
Pros and Cons

-
Inexpensive prices, so you can have a great night out without breaking the bank
Cons
-
It appears to be closed at the moment, which is a real pity as it might put a dampener on plans
-
Opening hours are a bit limited, mostly evenings and weekends, so it's not ideal if you're after a daytime spot
-
Not much in the way of food options beyond the odd summer BBQ, meaning you might need to head elsewhere for a proper meal

This is what a real pub is all about in my opinion.
Buzzing atmosphere, great range of beers and warm & friendly service.
Plenty of nostalgia around the place, as per photo.
Cheers.
Great pub - been going for years and I try to go every time I am in Bath! Thanks for all the memories (and beers!)
Great selection of local, in house (even more local) world and Belgium beers. Lovely staff, great music. What's not too like!
Called in on Tuesday with my Old Man between appointments, and our kind of pub.
Fantastic pints and good to see a nice choice of ciders. The barman was welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful.
Old Man saw the Irish Sessions on the board outside, so I predict we'll be back!

Called on Saturday lunchtime. Knowledgeable young man behind the bar who knew his real ales and how to serve them. There was a good selection including from their own brewery, Ralph's Ruin. A good craft ale and cider selection as well.
