About This Pub

Ah, The Livingstone – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway in Bath, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, welcoming energy with staff who are dead chatty and make you feel like part of the gang straight away. The prices are spot on too, so you can enjoy a few drinks and some decent bar snacks without worrying about the wallet. I love how it's kept that old-school charm, with a brilliant pool table and some tunes that keep things lively – perfect for a relaxed evening with mates. On the flip side, it's not the place for a hearty meal since they only do snacks, and the smoking area can be a tad noisy with those birds kicking up a fuss. Overall, with a solid 3.9 rating, it's a reliable spot for good times and affordable fun, but it might not wow you if you're after something more polished. I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a no-fuss pint in a genuine, character-filled boozer.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and really welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in
  • Prices are spot on for a good night out – affordable drinks and tasty bar snacks that won't break the bank
  • It's got that classic, old-school pub charm with a retro vibe, plus great entertainment like a super pool table and some cracking music
  • Feels like a hidden gem in Bath, full of knowledgeable locals and a friendly crowd that adds to the atmosphere
Cons
  • They don't serve proper meals, just bar snacks, so if you're after a full dinner, you might need to head elsewhere
  • The smoking area's got some birds that can get a bit rowdy, which might put you off if you're looking for a completely peaceful spot

Kind of old fashioned proper boozer. Lovely staff. Good prices. Good bar snacks, I don't think they do food. Super pool table in the garden room, great music being played which also came through to pool room. We had a great time and will be back soon!

Ventured in after always being intrigued by the allure of the facade. Went in, met the landlady had some great drinks and snacks. Loved the retro feel and old school pub vibes. Highly recommend

Very cheap, owners work the bar and are super friendly. There are birds in the smoking area that can get a bit roudy but a nice area
