About This Pub

You know, when you step into The Royal Dyche, it's like walking into the heart of Burnley FC fandom – the place has this warm, inviting feel that just draws you in, especially if you're a Claret at heart. I love how they've got all these screens dotted around for catching the live action, and the beer lineup is spot on, offering a great variety without breaking the bank. It's not just about the footy, though; they've got live music events that really liven things up, making it a fun spot for a night out with mates. On the flip side, it does get heaving on match days, so you might find yourself jostling for space, and if you're after a proper bite to eat, well, it's more of a drinks-focused venue, so you could be left wanting. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed chat and a pint, but it's best if you're up for the football vibe – gives you that genuine pub experience without any pretence.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant, especially on match days – it's buzzing with energy and perfect for Clarets fans to soak up the excitement.
  • Friendly staff and a welcoming vibe make it easy to chat with folks, even if you're new to the area or visiting as an away supporter.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers and ciders on tap, which really hits the spot for a proper pub experience.
  • Multiple screens indoors and outdoors, plus an outdoor projector, make it a top choice for watching live sports without missing a beat.
  • Live music from local bands and DJs, along with outdoor stages in the summer, adds a lovely touch of entertainment beyond the footy.
Cons
  • It can get quite packed during big games, which might mean a bit of a wait at the bar or struggling to find a seat.
  • Food options are a tad limited, as it's more focused on drinks – you might end up grabbing something from a street van outside rather than a full meal.
  • If you're not into football, the strong Clarets theme could feel a bit overwhelming, as it's very much geared towards fans.

Brilliant atmosphere and friendly pub, new to the area and easy to talk to people you don't know. I would say a Saturday night would be the best time to visit

Two of us visited the pub as away fans. We had no colours on and were told no chanting. Respecting this request, we were made more than welcome. A proper home football pub, we had a great time with the local fans. Decent beer and great bar staff. We purchased our food from a Street van outside, which we were allowed to bring into the pub. I would say from experience ,one or two away fans with no colours would be welcome but not a massive group.
