About This Pub
Ah, Bootleggers in Burnley – it's one of those places that just feels like a reliable mate for when you're in the mood for some sport and a cold one. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this quirky charm that makes your first visit memorable, with decent prices on lagers and beers that keep things light on the wallet. The big screens are an absolute treat for catching live sports; imagine settling in with mates to watch the big game, and it fills up nicely with a good crowd, which adds to the excitement. Plus, there's a solid pool table and a jukebox playing some cracking tunes, so even if the match isn't on, you've got ways to keep the fun going. On the flip side, it does seem like it's more of a convenient pit stop for some – like if you're waiting around or just happened to be nearby – rather than a place you'd plan a night around. That said, the friendly bar staff really shine through, making you feel right at home, and the selection of local ales is a nice touch for those who fancy something a bit different. Overall, it's a solid 4.2-rated spot that's worth a visit if you're local or up for some straightforward pub vibes, but it might not blow your socks off if you're after something more unique. Give it a go, and you'll likely leave with a smile, especially if you're a sports enthusiast!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The prices are spot on – you'll find decent deals on beers and lagers that won't break the bank, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a pint or two.
-
It's brilliant for sports fans with loads of big screens showing live matches, so you can catch all the action without missing a beat.
-
Friendly staff and a welcoming vibe, with folks chatting and enjoying themselves, which really adds to the atmosphere.
-
There's a good pool table and even a jukebox with great tunes, giving you options for some fun beyond just watching the game.
-
A solid selection of local ales at reasonable prices, perfect if you're after something a bit more local to sip on.
Cons
-
It might come across as more of a handy stopgap than a standout destination – some folks only pop in if they're nearby or waiting for something else, like a bus.
-
The quirkiness is nice, but it doesn't always feel like it's got that extra wow factor to draw you in regularly if you're not there for the sports.
-
With reviews spanning a couple of years and not many recent ones, it could mean the buzz has dipped a bit lately, so it might not always be as lively as you'd hope.

First time visit, quirky, but decent prices, liked the big screens spirts, will visit again.
Good little pub, decent prices on lager, good pool table, plenty of live sports
Had a great visit. Very reasonable prices for the beers, excellent service and some great music on the jukebox by a very friendly customer.
Called in for the first time to watch the Manchester derby before heading to Turf Moor. Great pub and good prices, plenty of options to see the match and filled up really quick with a good growd. Bar staff were really friendly and will definitely be calling in again.
Useful if you miss your bus. It's 2 mins from Burnley bus depot. I've only been in twice and both times it was due to missed buses.
Having said that the there is a good selection of local ales at very reasonable prices and if you want to watch a match there are loads of big screens dotted about.
