About This Pub
Ah, The Rose Pub & Deli – it's one of those places that just warms you up from the moment you step inside. Tucked away on Queens Road, it's got that classic pub feel with a modern twist, serving up an impressive array of beers from innovative breweries that really get your taste buds tingling. I love how they've blended in a deli vibe with their in-house cheese counter, making it easy to build your own cheeseboard or grab a stone-baked pizza that's packed with flavour and feels like a proper treat. The team there are just lovely, always with a smile and ready to help, whether you're sorting out a private party or just settling in for the evening. It's dog-friendly too, which is brilliant if you're out with your four-legged companion, and the billiards table adds a fun element for a bit of friendly competition. On the other hand, do keep in mind that it's not open every day – Mondays are a no-go, and food doesn't start until later in the day, so it might not be ideal if you're after a daytime bite. Plus, with events and matches potentially shaking up the schedule, it's smart to double-check before heading over. All in all, it's a gem for anyone wanting a relaxed, enjoyable night out, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in Norwich and fancy a pint with a side of good company.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, helpful, and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or hosting a private do.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers, from creative craft brews to real ales, and it's clear they know their stuff when it comes to serving up a proper pint.
-
The food is a real treat; their stone-baked pizzas and build-your-own cheeseboards are spot on, with generous portions and flavours that hit the mark every time.
-
It's wonderfully dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the fun, and there's a billiards table to keep things lively.
-
The atmosphere is spot on for a good night out, with regular entertainment and events that make it feel like a proper community hub.
Cons
-
The opening hours can be a bit restrictive, as it's closed on Mondays and food service only kicks in from the evening, which might not suit everyone looking for a casual lunch.
-
With changes to hours for events or matches, it's worth checking ahead to avoid any surprises if you're planning a visit.
-
Being a smaller venue, it might get quite cosy during busier times, so if you prefer a quieter spot, you could find it a tad overwhelming on peak nights.

We visited the Rose on Saturday from Manchester for a private family party. It was amazing from start to finish. The lovely team were so helpful and accommodating . We were able to decorate the venue and step up how we wanted and even did our own music set.
At staff went above and beyond to make everyone welcome and very helpful with regards to getting us all home safely.
Thank you so much , fantastic night and venue xx
Dawn & her Staff run a great Pub, good service, always with a smile. Surpurb atmosphere, large range of Craft and Real Ales. Food was very well priced, and decent portions
We headed here on a Friday evening, great pizza, wide selection of beers both in the fridge and on tap. Great little VIP card to reward repeat food orders Looking forward to returning soon.
Fantastic food! Our party opted for 2 different pizzas and 1 cheese platter. The pizzas were cooked to perfection and were loaded with toppings. The Nicey Spicy pizza had just the right amount of heat. The Double Hammy looked like it had high-end prosciutto.
We chose 4 types of cheese for the cheese platter and were pleased to receive the entire block of each cheese with the first couple of slices prepared (read: VERY generous portions). It came with crackers, chutney, and olives. The local brie was our favorite, but all the cheeses were excellent.
Thank you for the recommendations for things to do while visiting Norwich from the USA!
Went to watch my brothers band play here. Lovely old fashioned corner pub. Comfy with a decent range of beers. Dog friendly. Great Pizza menu.
