About This Pub
Ah, the Kings Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a breath of fresh air in the midst of modern bars. I have to say, what really stands out is their brilliant range of real ales; whether you're into pale ales, stouts, or something in between, they've got it covered from local microbreweries and beyond. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure you feel welcome, which adds to that genuine community spirit – especially if you're a footy fan popping in before or after a game. They've got a nice setup too, with a conservatory and beer garden that make it versatile for different weather or moods. On the flip side, it's very much a no-frills spot; no blaring music or games means it can come across as a bit subdued if you're in the mood for something more upbeat. And while it's only a ten-minute walk from the city centre, that might not suit everyone, plus the food is more of an afterthought rather than a highlight. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting an authentic pub experience – honest, unpretentious, and just what you need for a good catch-up with friends.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
Fantastic selection of real ales from local and regional breweries, perfect for any beer lover looking to try something new.
-
Warm and welcoming staff who make you feel right at home, with that proper old-school charm that's hard to find these days.
-
Lovely atmosphere in a traditional setting, ideal for a relaxed chat or catching the footy on the telly without any distractions.
-
Plenty of space to enjoy, including a cosy conservatory and a beer garden that's great for a sunny afternoon or a smoke.
-
Strong community vibe, especially for Norwich City fans, making it feel like a real local haunt where everyone is welcome.
Cons
-
It's quite traditional with no music, games, or machines, which might feel a bit quiet or old-fashioned if you're after a livelier night out.
-
Located a short walk from the city centre, so it could be a tad inconvenient if you're not keen on the stroll.
-
Food options seem straightforward and not the main draw, so if you're hoping for a full meal, you might need to keep expectations in check.

Popped in for a beer, and to book a table to watch the 6 nations with friends. Easily done , food can be taken in whilst drinking in . Decent beer.
A good old fashioned pub on the edge of the city, seasoned regulars and a great landlady.

Nice friendly pub!!! The bar has a good selection of beers and other drinks. There is plenty of space to sit, including a conservatory space which is nicely decorated and a pub garden with a shelter area, good for smokers. The staff are friendly and accommodating and it’s perfect to sit and have a chat with a few drinks. Dogs allowed too!
A proper pub. Great selection for real ale and a great atmosphere when we visited, partly due to the lovely bar maid who chatted with everybody. There are so few pubs like this now. We went in for one drink and stayed much longer than we meant to.
