About This Pub
Ah, The Rose & Crown Inn – it's one of those classic pubs right in the heart of Hemel Hempstead that you might stumble upon for a relaxed evening out. I have to say, the staff really stand out; they're proper welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, almost like you're catching up with friends over a pint. The entertainment's a highlight too – think lively karaoke on Thursdays and live acts on weekends that could turn any night into a memorable one. Prices for drinks are reasonable enough, considering the current state of things, so you won't feel completely ripped off. On the flip side, though, some folks have mentioned drinks being a tad pricey, and there are tales of inconsistent service, like being accused of being worse for wear when you're not, or getting the boot early without much warning. Plus, switching to plastic cups late on isn't ideal for that authentic pub feel. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a good time with mates, but it'd be wise to keep expectations in check for those occasional slip-ups – still, I'd pop in if I were nearby!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are really friendly and helpful, always making you feel right at home like you're chatting with old mates.
-
They've got cracking entertainment options, such as karaoke and live music nights that keep things lively and fun.
-
Drink prices are generally fair, especially when you consider how inflation's affecting everything these days.
Cons
-
Drinks can feel a bit steep at times, which might make you think twice before ordering another round.
-
Service isn't always spot on, with some stories of folks being turned away or hurried out the door earlier than expected.
-
After 11pm, it's all plastic cups instead of proper glasses, which takes a bit of the charm out of things.

Not a bad pub was ok, staff was good workers and helpful. Drinks expensive but that's to inflation. Toilets 🚻, a normal toilet pub. Not a bad place been in worse.
Thankyou tho for all the staff help.
Karaoke nights are sick a full of supportive people, good drinks and prices.
Very disappointed with the service here, no last orders bell, then told to get out the pub because they've decided to close and don't want to be there anymore because they're working again in the morning. Also there are no glasses after 11pm, just plastic cups.
Arrived quite tired after a 14 hour shift to join some friends for a drink. Was accused of being drunk at the door by the bouncer - no alcohol, just a little tired.
After being served my first beer, I went for another. The lady behind the bar screamed “I will not serve you, I will not serve you. You are too drunk. I will not serve you!”. My girlfriend and I looked at each other, a little bemused.
The lady behind the bar then got her other three co-workers all around her, while the manager looked over at me from a saloon door.
In unison they all repeated “you are too drunk. We will not serve you. We will not serve you.”
Absolutely bizarre experience. But it was fun in a way.
Probably wouldn’t go back but they did play some nostalgic music.
