About This Pub

Ah, The Rose & Crown in Tooting – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its cosy charm and that lovely, homely atmosphere. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's a real gem for kicking back with mates over some delicious pizzas and a pint; the staff sound like absolute stars, always cheerful and going the extra mile, whether it's for a casual catch-up or a special occasion like a birthday. It's got plenty of space for larger groups, and if you're into sports, there's often something on to keep things lively. On the downside, though, the bar setup can be a bit of a nuisance when it gets busy, leading to slow service and a few bottlenecks that might put a dampener on things. Still, with a solid 4.5 rating overall, it's clear this place does a lot right, but I'd say it's best to pop in early or on a quieter day to fully enjoy it without the crowds. All in all, it's a dependable choice for a good night out in London, balancing the highs and lows nicely.

Pizzas were just okay — nothing to rave about, but passable for a quick bite. The real issue lies with the bar setup and service. Ordering a drink took far too long due to slow service and poor layout. The bar is positioned right next to seated tables, which creates a bottleneck. There’s barely enough space for people to queue, and it makes it awkward for others to move around the area. It feels cramped and poorly thought through — not an enjoyable experience overall.

My colleagues and I come to the Rose and Crown in Tooting nearly every week, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely lovely, friendly, kind, and always happy to help. Their pizzas are absolutely delicious (we’ve tried most of them by now!), and the wine and cocktail selection is top-notch. The garden out back is such a nice bonus. It’s become our regular spot for a reason, highly recommend!

I hosted my boyfriend’s 30th birthday here and have been a loyal customer for the past five years. This place always has an incredibly warm and welcoming vibe, with brilliant, attentive staff and a lovely, cozy setting. For our special occasion, they truly went above and beyond—offering a complimentary shot for the birthday boy, refrigerating the cake for me, providing plates for said cake, and even offering to help with decorations. The best part? When we arrived to set up, they had already cleared the space for us, making everything so much less stressful as guests started arriving. Unlike other places where you have to fight for your reserved spot, this thoughtful touch made all the difference. Huge thanks to the team for making it a night we won’t forget! ❤️

We had a great night here last Friday. Stayed much longer than we had initially planned. Comfortable and with a nice buzz. Great for a big group. Lots of sport on if you are interested. The pizzas are delicious and I can't recommend the olives enough. It was busy so good to reserve a table in advance from about 6pm until 8.30pm. We got an unexpected free baby Guinness shot after 8pm!

Decent pub with decent grub. Was pretty busy when I went but sometimes it’s rammed, especially in the summer. It’s a great place to go if you’ve spent time on Tooting Bec Common. Lots of space for groups. Most of the tables are catered for 4-6 so great for getting mates together. Food is mainly pizza based, the pizza I had was pretty tasty. I went for number 10 which had ham and portable mushrooms. The pizza was tasty and the truffle oil was plentiful. Love that they didn’t skimp on that. It’s decent, I’d go again.
