About This Pub

Ah, the Ramble Inn – what a gem of a spot down in Tooting! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really nails that classic Irish pub experience without breaking the bank. The pints of Guinness are poured to perfection and come in at prices that feel like a throwback to simpler times, which is always a win in pricey old London. The staff go out of their way to make sure you're looked after, keeping things cheerful and ensuring no one goes thirsty, which just adds to the homely vibe. Sundays are particularly lively with traditional Irish music sessions that get everyone in the spirit, and it's a solid choice if you're into watching the footie or rugby on the screens. They've got straightforward grub like ham and cheese toasties and even tea or coffee if you're not in the mood for a drink, all at reasonable rates. On the flip side, it's cash only, so you might find yourself fumbling for notes if you're used to card payments, and the food options don't go much beyond the basics, so it's probably not the place for a fancy dinner. All in all, if you're after an affordable, authentic pub crawl with good company and a bit of craic, I'd say give the Ramble Inn a try – it's got that genuine charm that keeps people coming back for more.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The Guinness here is absolutely spot on – it's one of the best pints you'll find, and at such reasonable prices, it's a real bargain in London.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive; they'll make sure your glass is never empty, which really adds to that warm, welcoming pub feel.
  • It's got a fantastic atmosphere with traditional Irish music sessions, especially on Sundays, and it's a great spot for catching sports on the telly.
  • They offer simple but tasty options like sandwiches and toasties, plus tea and coffee, making it a versatile place for a quick bite or a full session.
  • The overall vibe is proper authentic, with affordable drinks and a lively crowd that makes you feel right at home.
Cons
  • It's cash only, which can be a bit of a nuisance these days when everyone's used to tapping their cards – so plan ahead if you're popping in.
  • The food menu seems a tad limited, with just basics like toasties mentioned, so if you're after a proper meal, you might need to look elsewhere.

It’s a brilliant pub, the table service is brilliant but in the immortal words of Leonardo DiCaprio.. “we ain’t F’N leaving” unfortunately Mayo are losing to Donegal 🤮 but only down side is it’s cash only.

Truly the best place to get a pint of Guinness and that proper pub atmosphere. Staff are friendly and will make sure you've never got an empty pint. On top of that - one of the most affordable pints of Guinness in the city! Edit - have also just had a ham and cheese toastie here. Why on earth aren't more pubs doing this, and for £3 no less!! Can't recommend it enough. Do yourself a favour and get down there.

🚇Tooting Broadway 🍺 £4.90 Guinness Cash The Ramble Inn is located at the southern end of Tooting in Southwest London. The nearest Tube is Tooting Broadway, Tooting mainline is also close by. This building used to be the home of The Thirty Club, a branch of the Home Guard Old Comrades Association. This independent pub came to be in 1998 and has been run by the same Irish family ever since. This is a traditionally decorated one bar pub with the servery located on the right hand side. Around the walls is a mixture of Irish memorabilia, mirrors and some superb Guinness signage. The seating is plentiful, you’ll find old pews next to upholstered benches with sturdy tables, chairs and stools. At the back of the pub is a cosy covered courtyard beer garden. The beer selection is all keg with a selection of familiar brands to choose from. As this is an Irish pub, I had to try the Guinness. My pint was excellent, a really good drop of the black stuff, price point was great at under a fiver. There is food available in the form of Toasties, all Toasties cost £3, there are also a selection of Tayto’s. This is a cash only pub, there’s a cashpoint around the corner. I arrived just after 11am on a sunny Saturday morning in April. The pub had a few early bird punters in attendance and the atmosphere was relaxed. I spent some time talking to a lovely member of the team who was kind enough to tell me all about this top local boozer, what a lovely Lady. This pub has plenty to keep you entertained. There is a Quiz on a Thursday, Traditional Irish music on a Sunday and Live Music on the last Saturday of the month. The pub also shows live football and GAA on the TV screens around the bar. Visiting The @rambleinntooting_ was excellent pub experience. The welcoming local vibe, fantastic service, excellent Guinness, reasonable prices and all-round feel good means my next visit won’t be too long. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 13.04.24
