About This Pub
Ah, The Roebuck in Hampstead is one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away near Hampstead Heath and handy for a post-walk pit stop. I've got to say, the atmosphere is spot on – it's all about that country-style charm with smiley staff who make you feel like you're chatting with old mates from the get-go. The food really shines, especially their Sunday roasts; I've heard from a few folks that the pork belly and chicken are absolute winners with generous portions and bags of flavour, using top-notch local ingredients. Pair that with a pint in their spacious, heated garden, and you've got a cracking spot for whiling away an afternoon. On the flip side, it's not all perfect – one time, someone mentioned the beef roast was a tad chewy and underwhelming, and let's face it, prices can sting a bit in this part of London, so it's worth keeping an eye on the bill if you're on a budget. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a relaxed pub experience; just pop in early on busy days to avoid the crowds, and you'll likely have a brilliant time.

Cons
-
Some dishes can be hit or miss, like the beef in the Sunday roast being a bit thin and chewy at times, which might disappoint if you're after perfection.
-
Prices are on the moderate side for London, but they can add up quickly, especially if you're treating yourself to a full meal and drinks.
-
It gets pretty busy, particularly on weekends, so you might need to book ahead or arrive early to snag a table without any hassle.

Sunday afternoon went and had a Sunday Roast with a pint of beer. Cost about $67 Australian dollars - the Aussie dollar not great at the moment. Beef in the Sunday roast very thin and chewy. Otherwise food average.
Great beer garden out the back and spacious pub. Good environment for family / friends /partner.
Enjoyed - probably wouldn’t get the beef Sunday roast.
Really lovely Sunday roast here.
Big portions, delicious food! We had the pork belly and the roast chicken and both were great! Would definitely recommend ⭐️
Service was great as well!
Busy pub in front of the Royal Free hospital with varied clientele - families, friends, couples. Service is friendly and efficient.
I had bangers and mash and it was so good, I didn't want my meal to end. Sausages and gravy were full of flavour, mash was creamy and smooth, and the caremelised onions - well I could eat that every day
Friends all enjoyed their meals. I think the burgers were another stand out meal.
Recommend!
Fantastic Sunday roast. Best pork crackling I think I have ever had, and a tasty piece of pork. My wife had the chicken which I tried and it was equally delicious. Dog friendly too. Worth getting here early on a weekend as they can generally find you a table even though they were pretty fully booked.
A nice spacious pub situated opposite the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. They had 4 cask beers so I opted for a Youngs original at £5.65, quite reasonable for the area. They also had a selection of around 20 whiskies. They have a nice, quite large, heated garden area. They offer food, mainly typical pub grub but with some items that are different e.g. stuffed sardine starter at £8.50 and a roated squash gnocchi main at £16. They had a good choice of wines with prices for a bottle starting at £24.50. I was here at midday on a Tuesday so it was rather quiet. The service was friendly. In summary a nice pub, worth a visit if you are in the area.
