About This Pub
Ah, The Magdala Tavern – it's one of those pubs that really warms your cockles on a chilly London evening. I've heard from folks who've popped in that the Sunday roasts are an absolute winner, with succulent meats and hearty portions that leave you feeling chuffed without breaking the bank. The drinks menu is a real highlight too, packed with excellent real ales and a variety of wines and whiskies that cater to all tastes, making it ideal for a relaxed pint or a celebratory round. The staff are just brilliant, always up for a chat and quick to sort you out, which adds to that cosy, community feel. On the flip side, it does tend to get a bit heaving, particularly in the afternoons, so if you're after a peaceful spot, you might want to time your visit wisely. And while the beer choices are spot on, it's a tad frustrating not having a clear list to peruse, as you could end up missing a gem or two. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in the Hampstead area looking for good grub, great company, and that authentic pub experience – I'd say give it a go if you're nearby!

Very nice Sunday lunch and a good selection of ales. Got busy in the afternoon. Could do with a beer list as it can be difficult to see all the options from in front of the bar.
Great local pub in hampstead serving quality food with a cracking atmosphere. All staff were pleasure to deal with and both the burger and fish and chips were excellent. Sunday roasts also looked wicked and will be trying next time!
Pub has a real local feel, very reasonable prices for the quality of food and great atmosphere of proper pub! Also a wi ked beer list on tap!
New favourite spot in hampstead
Hands down, one of the best places in London to have a Sunday roast. The meats are succulent and are cooked to perfection. Prices are decent, portions are plentiful, and the staff is amazing. I would highly recommend you visit here if you’re in the Hampstead Heath area.
I just moved to Hampstead and have visited lots of excellent pubs here. In my view The Magdala is the best of the best. For a start, the staff are welcoming & helpful. There’s a great selection of cask ales and good wines. The food is great and I’d recommend Wednesday Lobster Night. No wonder it’s the CAMRA North London Pub of the year!
Great real ale and community pub near Hampstead Heath Station. Handy for walks on the heath. Harvey's Best Bitter is always on and always excellent, along with a handful of others & a decent real cider. Proper!
