About This Pub

Ah, The Rock Box – it's one of those hidden gems in Blackburn that I've heard great things about from folks who've popped in. From the reviews, it sounds like a proper welcoming spot where you can sink into a comfy chair, enjoy some live music on Saturdays, and chat away with the lovely staff who really know how to make you feel at ease. The drinks are spot on too, with a solid lineup of ales and beers that hit the mark, though it might not always have the full range you'd hope for – that real ale situation can be a bit hit or miss, as one chap mentioned. Still, the rock tunes and overall buzz make it a fun place to while away an evening. If you're into that rock bar scene, I'd say give it a try; it's not the most famous spot with just a few reviews out there, and without a website, you might have to wing it a bit, but the positives far outweigh the niggles. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back pint or a lively night, and I'd reckon most would leave with a smile.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The live music on Saturday evenings is absolutely brilliant, really gets the place buzzing with energy
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
  • There's a great selection of fine ales and beers to choose from, perfect for a relaxed evening
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with fantastic rock music that keeps things lively and fun
Cons
  • The real ale options can be a bit limited at times, which might disappoint if you're after a wide variety
  • No website means it's tricky to check out the latest info or events before heading over
  • With only a handful of reviews, it might feel a tad under the radar and not as bustling as some other spots

What a fantastic little Rock Bar in Blackburn town centre. Andy and Karen did a fantastic job opening this bar and building it up making all welcome, and Dylan the new landlord is doing an equally fantastic job. It boasts a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere, with fanstatic music, and a great choice of real ales, lagers cider and spirits. They make you feel at home and wanting to keep on coming back to visit. Would highly recommend if you enjoy music, beer and good company! They also have a pool table along with a dart board for those who enjoy bar games. Again, don't take my word for it come and visit.

Not so loud when I was in but loud enough! I was more concerned about only one real ale on, and two blank pumps on a Thursday afternoon. However, a second pump was pulled through while I was there so added a star. The Treacle Miners Tipple mild I had was brilliant! Lo and behold, the third pump is now in action too! +1 star.
