About This Pub

Ah, The Drummer's Arms, what a lovely spot it is! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's one of those pubs that just gets it right – you know, the kind where the staff greet you with a genuine smile and make you feel like you're part of the gang straight away. I love how they've kept that traditional feel with the old pub signs and comfy seats, and the selection of ales and beers is spot on for anyone after a quality pint. It's clear from the chatter that the locals and the team behind the bar really add to the vibe, making it a go-to for a relaxed evening or a quick stop before an event. On the flip side, the opening times do look a bit muddled, particularly on Sundays, so you might want to double-check before you head over, and it's a shame about the website not being more helpful for planning ahead. All in all, though, it's got that winning combination of good value and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it worth a visit – I'd say give it a try if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The atmosphere is spot on – it's got that classic pub vibe with lovely old signs on the walls and a cosy, comfortable feel.
  • They've got a cracking selection of craft ales, bitters, and lagers, perfect for a proper pint after a long day.
  • The locals are dead chatty and inclusive, which makes it a great spot for a chat or meeting new folks.
  • It's affordably priced, so you can enjoy a few drinks without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • The opening hours seem a tad inconsistent, especially on Sundays, which might leave you scratching your head about when to pop in.
  • Not much info online due to website issues, so it could be tricky to check details before heading out.

Popped in for a pint before a concert at the cathedral.it was so nice to be greeted with a smile, great staff, friendly, polite and I was made to feel very welcome. Pub had a nice atmosphere, loved the old pub signs on the walls. The cask ale was superb, they even give you a choice of glass, barrel or straight glass. I would 100% recommend going here, a great traditional pub, lovely staff and a great pint of cask ale

I was welcomed by customers and the Landlady as soon as I walked in. Genuine interest in me, as a stranger and could not have been made more welcome. A proper Pub, Proper people and a Proper Landlady. Lancashire folk at their best, even though I’m a Yorkshireman!
