About This Pub
Ah, Bees Knees – it's one of those places in Blackburn that I've heard mixed things about, and from what I've seen, it's got some real gems going for it. The renovation has done wonders; the atmosphere is warm and inviting, like sinking into your favourite armchair after a long day, and it's clear from the reviews that it's a spot where you can enjoy a good laugh with friends over a drink. Shout out to the bar staff too – Michael sounds like a proper gem, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really lifts the whole experience. But, and I hate to say it, there are a few bumps in the road. Some folks have had a tough time with the bouncers, getting accused of being too drunk or on something when they're stone-cold sober, which just doesn't sit right. It's a shame because it can turn what should be a fun night into something frustrating, especially with the inconsistent way they handle things – like letting in someone who's wobbling about but giving grief to others. Overall, if you're heading out for a casual evening, I'd say give it a go for the positives, but maybe keep an eye out and avoid any unnecessary drama. It's got that classic pub charm with a bit of edge, so as long as you're prepared, you might just have a cracking time.

Cons
-
There have been a few complaints about bouncers being a bit heavy-handed, accusing folks of being drunk when they're not, which can spoil the night.

Inconsistent door policies, like letting in someone who's clearly unsteady but turning others away, feel unfair and unprofessional.
-
Some experiences with staff demanding apologies or not handling situations well could leave you feeling frustrated.

Recent Reviews
The bar looks impressive after the renovation. Very cozy atmosphere.
Went in bought a pint, didn't even have a swig, went for a fag and the bouncer said I was too drunk to come in, I clearly wasn't. And he let a guy in that was staggering. I want my money back for the pint I paid for.
Accused me of being too drunk even though I was fine and just dancing then on drugs wasn’t even on anything and still got told I was because i have big pupils natural and then got told to apologise then I’d be served if you really believed someone was on drugs you’d kick them out very unprofessional and felt like a personal attack
Very impressed with re-fit,wouldn't have gone in but someone said its nice in there, will be going again
Class bar, with good atmosphere. Shout out to Michael the barman, what a legend.
