About This Pub

Ah, The Refectory Pub Thai Kitchen – it's one of those places that really grows on you if you're after solid food and a casual night out, but it's got its quirks too. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the grub is a real highlight; think juicy burgers and authentic Thai dishes with flavours that pack a punch, and portions that won't leave you hungry. The service is spot on, with staff who make you feel like a regular, and it's brilliant for catching the game on those big screens or relaxing in the beer garden when the weather's nice. That said, it's not all perfect – the modern decor might feel a tad sterile compared to those charming old-school pubs we all love, and a few people have mentioned some dodgy characters hanging about, which could put a damper on things if you're flying solo. Still, with a solid 4.0 rating from heaps of reviews, it's worth a go if you're in the Finchley area, just keep an eye out and maybe pop in with a mate for the full experience. All in all, it's a decent shout for a relaxed evening, balancing the good with the not-so-good in that honest way we appreciate.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, with authentic Thai flavours and generous portions that leave you feeling satisfied.
  • Service is top-notch and really welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got a great setup for watching sports with large screens, and the beer garden out back is perfect for a sunny afternoon.
  • Overall, it's a lively spot with a decent atmosphere that many folks rave about, especially for the drinks and grub.
Cons
  • The decor feels a bit modern and uncharming, not quite the cosy, traditional pub vibe you might hope for in London.
  • Some folks have mentioned feeling uneasy about the clientele, with a few odd encounters that could make solo visits less enjoyable.
  • Food can be hit or miss – like when they don't quite nail the spice level you ask for, even if it still tastes good overall.
  • It might not feel as safe or inviting if you're on your own, based on a couple of experiences shared by visitors.

I have not tried their foods, therefore I cannot comment. the place is quite ugly, modern and uncharming. not the usual nice old pub you would expect. clientele are quite suspiciously dodgy, i don't feel safe if I am there by myself. strange men would come to the table to chat and outright disrespectful. they also do not use card if your bill is less than £5

I recently visited The Refactory Pub Thai Kitchen and was thoroughly impressed. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the drinks were fantastic. The atmosphere was very welcoming. I went there with my Russian wife. Engineer Simone Spiga

First time ordering from here and it certainly won’t be the last. Authentic flavours and generous portions, delivered hot and on time. What more could you ask for. If I had to be fussy, I did ask them to make the Pad Kra Pao EXTRA SPICY, which didn’t happen but it tasted so good that it didn’t matter. Highly recommended and definitely my new favourite Thai restaurant in the area

I visited this place 3 years ago, and fell in love with it, brings me back home always. It is always a pleasant experience from start to finish. The burger? Hands down one of the best I've ever had—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and it really makes a difference. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. They were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, which really enhanced the experience. Another highlight is the idea of having a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays. It brings such a great vibe to the place, creating an exciting atmosphere. It's the perfect mix of good food and good music. Highly recommend this spot for a fun night out!

Really nice place with large screens to watch sports. The decor is nice and the service was good. Food could be better . Plenty of place to sit and has a nice beer garden at the back.
