About This Pub
Ah, The Red River Club – it's one of those cosy pubs that you hear about from mates and think, 'I need to check that out.' From what I've gathered, it's a proper friendly spot in Barrow-in-Furness, where you can enjoy a cracking roast on Thursdays or a tasty curry without breaking the bank. The DJ nights and events sound like a blast, with tunes spanning from the 60s right up to modern hits, and the pool tables are just the thing for a relaxed evening with friends. Prices are fair, and it's got that warm, family-run feel that makes you want to linger. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – there was this one story where someone felt the staff were a bit off, watching and judging like they were back at school, which is a shame because it could sour an otherwise great visit. Overall, though, with a solid 4.4 rating from plenty of positive feedback, I'd say it's worth a go if you're in the area, just keep your expectations balanced and maybe pop in for a drink first to get the lay of the land.

They've got some cracking food on offer, like their homemade roast dinners and curries, which are excellent value for money.
-
The atmosphere is spot on for a good night out, with brilliant DJ sets and events like New Year's Eve parties that keep things lively.
-
Drinks are reasonably priced, and the pool tables are top quality, perfect for a casual game with mates.
-
It's a family-run spot with a laid-back vibe, ideal for private functions or just popping in for a bite and a chat.
Cons
-
There have been a few reports of staff being a bit judgmental or treating some visitors like school kids, which can put a dampener on the evening.
-
The operating hours aren't clearly listed, so you might turn up and find it closed when you least expect it.
-
With only a handful of recent reviews, it's hard to get a full picture of how things are going these days, though the overall rating is still solid.

Probably the worst pub I’ve ever been too, spoke to us like school kids and stood there watching and judging us the entire time, bare in mind we’re all of age just because we looked young. Thank god I don’t live around here so I can stay away from that terrible establishment. Very dissatisfied
I recently visited Red River Club with some friends for a game of pool, and I was pleasantly surprised by the low price membership and the quality of the pool tables. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, and we had a great time enjoying some cheap drinks while playing. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun spot to shoot some pool with friends.
Fantastic New Year's Eve party 🎉🎉
Brilliant Dj - played tunes from 60s - modern
Bar staff extremely friendly and friendly
Was there for a private function. Buffet was excellent and service very good
You have to try their roast dinner which is served on Thursday lunch. What a great meal, and fantastic value for money. If you prefer something like chicken curry (my favourite), or maybe Cumberland sausage, these are also to be found on the menu along side other practical choices. I have always found them open at lunch time for meals, and there is an evening meal service too. Takeaway something to enjoy later! A warm welcome awaits you, drinks at the bar are reasonably priced, and the club is popular in the community.
