About This Pub

Ah, The Red Lion & Pineapple – it's one of those Wetherspoon spots that really delivers on the basics, you know? I've got to say, it's fantastic for anyone watching their wallet; you can pop in for a pint or a meal without it costing the earth, and that's always a winner when you're out with friends. The beer garden is a real gem, especially on a sunny day – it's just the ticket for a relaxed chat over a drink. Their breakfast deals are spot on too, like that small one for under £3, which feels like a proper treat without being too heavy. On the flip side, some dishes like the chicken wings lack a bit of punch in the flavour department, and the coffee might not be everyone's cup of tea if you prefer it smoother. Plus, it's a tad frustrating when the smoking rules in the garden aren't followed, which can put a damper on things. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back pub crawl or a quick bite, as long as you go in with realistic expectations – it's all about that great value and friendly vibe, warts and all.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The prices are absolutely spot on – you can get a round for just £4, which makes it a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly catch-up with mates.
  • They've got a lovely little beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun, adding a nice outdoor vibe to your pint.
  • The food offers great value, like that small breakfast for under £3, which is ideal if you're after something light but tasty to start your day.
  • The atmosphere feels cozy and welcoming, especially in the morning with their menu and coffee options that hit the spot for a relaxed visit.
  • Drinks are consistently good and at a great price, making it easy to enjoy a few without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • Some of the food, like the chicken wings, doesn't have much flavour, so it might leave you wanting a bit more excitement on the plate.
  • The coffee can be a tad bitter, which is a shame if you're hoping for a top-notch brew to go with your meal.
  • It's a bit of a nuisance when folks don't respect the smoking areas in the beer garden, which can spoil the outdoor experience for others.

This pub is surprisingly nice and has a lovely little beer garden that’s a perfect sun spot! Only downside is many other patrons don’t stick to the smoking/non smoking areas in the beer garden. But can’t complain when it’s only £4 a round!

Only here for breakfast. Horse shoe shaped bar in this Wetherspoons. The breakfast muffin was good, the coffee a little bitter. Great value.

My favourite thing to eat at my local whetehrspons is the small breakfast £2.99, perfect if you don’t want something heavy but want to give yourself a little morning treat. If your feeling hungry I would definitely recommend the normal breakfast which is around £5 or so. I have no complaints, I love having my small breakfast here. It’s such a cheap and cheerful meal. The serving staff are lovely.
