About This Pub
Ah, The Red Lion – it's one of those hidden gems in Bradford that just warms you up from the moment you step inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are an absolute delight; folks like Julie and the landladies come across as legends who make everyone feel welcome, turning a simple visit into a proper social occasion. The beers are spot on too – think excellent stout, organic ales, and a perfect pint of Taddy's lager that keeps people coming back. And let's not forget the charm of the place; with its Victorian decor and old photos, it's like stepping back in time, where you can actually hear your mates without any distractions. That said, it's not all perfect – if you're after a lively spot with music or a telly for the footie, it might come across as a bit quiet or traditional for your taste. Plus, with no online setup, it's tricky to get the lowdown beforehand, and knowing other pubs in the area have closed might add a touch of melancholy. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a genuine, no-fuss pub experience – I'd say give it a go if you're in the mood for good company and a well-poured drink.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The staff are absolutely brilliant and make you feel right at home, like chatting with old mates.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers, including top-notch stout and organic ales that really hit the spot.
-
It's got that lovely traditional vibe with Victorian decor and no music or TVs, so you can actually have a proper conversation.
-
The place is spotlessly clean, which is always a plus when you're settling in for a pint.
Cons
-
It might feel a tad old-school for anyone after a bit more buzz, like music or screens to watch the match.
-
There's no website or much online presence, so it's not straightforward to look up details before heading out.
-
Being in an area where other local pubs have shut down, it could give off a slightly quiet or nostalgic feel that isn't for everyone.

We have been nipping in after band practice. Really friendly lot in there and top beer. It’s nice to be phone free- shooting the breeze and sinking a couple of beers the old way! The stout is band on! Julie is a legend.
Great little pub livwd in the area many years ago shame alot of other little pubs have gone from the area
Very friendly land ladies. Good choice of organic ale and cider. There is no music or TV in that pub, which means you can actually hear the conversation you are having.

Friendly place, not been in here for a long time.
Beautiful, traditional public house. Victorian decor, old photos of a wealthy Bradford. Spotlessly clean, perfect pint of Taddy’s lager. You won’t be disappointed!
