About This Pub

Ah, The Bulls Head in Great Horton – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From the reviews, it's clear folks absolutely love the friendly staff and the landlady and landlord who make everyone feel welcome, like you're part of the furniture from day one. The karaoke nights and pub quizzes are a real highlight, getting the crowd buzzing and creating that lively atmosphere we all crave after a long week. Plus, with affordable drinks and the odd live band or comedian popping up, it's a top spot for a bit of entertainment without breaking the bank. On the flip side, the hours can be a tad restrictive, kicking off around 2 PM most days, so if you're an early bird, you might find yourself waiting around. And without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the latest info, which could put a dampener on spontaneous plans. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for anyone in Bradford looking for a good laugh and a chat – I'd say give it a go if you're after that authentic pub experience, but just keep those opening times in mind!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got a fantastic atmosphere with regular entertainment like karaoke and pub quizzes that really get everyone involved.
  • They offer a reasonable selection of beers, wines, and spirits at inexpensive prices, perfect for a casual night out.
  • There's a lovely family-friendly vibe, with occasional live bands and comedians adding to the fun.
  • And let's not forget the cute dog named Willow – she's an absolute bonus that adds a charming touch!
Cons
  • The opening hours seem a bit limited, typically starting around 2 PM, which might not suit early risers or those wanting a quick lunch.
  • Without a website, it's tricky to check for updates or get more details in advance, so you might have to just turn up and hope.
  • From what I've seen, the entertainment is great but it's mostly focused on evenings, so it might not appeal if you're after something more relaxed during the day.
