About This Pub

Ah, The Red Door – it's one of those places that really shines when you're up for hosting a birthday bash or a casual get-together. From what folks are saying, the staff go above and beyond to make things easy; I mean, imagine firing off a load of questions and getting instant replies – that's gold for sorting out an event. Paul's rave about the quick service and table ordering system sounds like a right treat, and David's story of having the run of the place for a baby shower just shows how flexible they are. The music and lighting get a big thumbs up too, creating that perfect party atmosphere without it feeling overcrowded. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; Josh mentioned the drinks being a bit steep once happy hour's done, so you might want to load up early or keep an eye on the budget. And then there's Lily's experience, which was a proper letdown – paying to get in only to find it dead quiet. Still, with a solid 3.7 rating overall, it's worth a punt if you're in the area, just go in with realistic expectations and maybe check their socials for the latest scoop. All in all, it's a fun spot that does events well, but like any pub, it has its off moments.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant and super helpful, especially when you're sorting out events or parties – they respond quickly and make everything run smoothly.
  • It's a fantastic spot for private hires; you can rearrange the furniture, bring in your own decorations, and even cater your own event, giving it a personal touch.
  • The atmosphere is spot on with great music from the DJ and a lively vibe that keeps things buzzing, perfect for a night out or celebration.
  • They've got a good selection of drinks, and happy hour deals make it even better value if you time it right.
Cons
  • Drinks can be a bit on the pricey side outside of happy hour, so you might end up spending more than expected if you're not careful.
  • Sometimes they overhype how busy it is, like charging an entry fee when the place is actually quiet, which could leave you feeling a tad disappointed.
  • The website's still under construction, so it's not the easiest to get all the info you need online before heading over.
  • Opening hours are a bit irregular, only open a few days a week, which might make it tricky to plan a visit.

I organised a birthday party, the staff were so helpful and responded immediately to my countless questions. On the night, great speed of service, we could order by pressing the button on the table which worked well and the team were fast to respond. Great music from the DJ, really nice Vibe, I would highly recommend 👏

We're local to the area and The Red Door was our first choice for hosting our baby shower. Gemma was so helpful with organising it, and was very flexible with us! The set up was simple, the place was ours to do what we want with until 5pm. We change the layout, brought in decoration, and even caterers. The place was perfect for the guests we had (40 adults and 15 children). Thanks a lot for helping make our baby shower special.

Hired for birthday celebration. Great space and staff. Allowed us to arrange the furniture / decorations as we pleased. Good selection of drinks and lighting was great. Highly recommend for hire for private events or a few cocktails too!

We had a really good night here on Saturday. The atmosphere is great when a DJ is in. It wasn’t overly crowded but the dance floor was busy and the music suited everyone’s taste. The only slight complaint was that drinks were quite expensive outside of happy hour, so load up on the 2 for £14 cocktails before 10pm! 🍸 Also, I can’t comment on cost of entry as we got there at around 9pm when it was free.

Front of house last night was very quick to convince us the place was rammed just to get a £10 entry fee out of us only to walk in and walk straight back out, absolutely dead - we were one of about 5 people. Very disappointing and mis-leading to the point we didn’t even bother getting a drink.
