About This Pub
Ah, The Railway Inn – it's one of those cosy spots that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews and all, the landlord really stands out; he's described as helpful and caring, always up for a chat and making sure folks are enjoying themselves. The beers are spot on too, with options like Moretti that get high praise, and at such an inexpensive price, it's easy to see why it's got a stellar 4.6 rating. It's got that authentic British pub feel, well-maintained and full of good energy, which makes it a great place for a laid-back evening with mates. On the downside, though, it's quite compact, so if you're in a bigger group, you might end up feeling a tad squished, and there's no food available, which could leave you a bit peckish if you fancy a meal. Plus, being cash only adds a bit of hassle in this digital age, and the no-dogs policy might put off some. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a friendly, no-fuss pub experience, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind for the full picture.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The landlord is an absolute gem – he's so friendly and genuinely cares about everyone who pops in, making you feel right at home.
-
They've got some cracking beers on tap, like Moretti, which always hits the spot for a proper pint.
-
It's super affordable, so you can enjoy a night out without worrying about the wallet – perfect for a casual catch-up.
-
The pub has that classic British charm, well-kept and full of good vibes, just like a traditional local should be.
Cons
-
It's on the small side, so it can get a bit snug if things are busy, and you might not have much space to spread out.
-
No food on offer, which is a pity if you're after a bite to eat with your drink – you'll have to head elsewhere for that.
-
It's cash only, which is a bit old-school and means you need to remember to bring notes and coins, as cards aren't an option.
-
No dogs allowed, so if you're out with your furry friend, this might not be the spot for you.

Such a nice guy behind the bar. Good vibes will be back again
Small, but brilliant pub. Genuinely good Landlord who cares about his customers.
Great, friendly pub. Beers good , extremely helpful landlord. Did not have food, so unable to rate that. Highly recommend a visit.
Legend of the Rosegrove area is the "railway". Place hasnt changed much in many years but is a decent club overall, moretti on tap, always sign of a good boozer. Rumour has it that this place has hosted a christening for 213 consecutive sundays
Good pub. Good beer. Private Landlord so pub very well kept. Visited from narrow boat moored at bridge 121. No dogs allowed but kids ok. No food. Cash only. A good all round British pub
