About This Pub

Ah, the Hare & Hounds – what a lovely spot it is, tucked away in Padiham. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this real homely vibe that just draws you in. The owners are absolute stars, always up for a natter, and the crowd's just as welcoming, whether you're a regular or just passing through on your bike for a pint. I love how they've nailed the real ales at such good prices – it's perfect for kicking back with mates after a long day. And being dog-friendly is a nice touch; you can bring the pup along for the outing. It's especially buzzing after Padiham FC matches, with a lively atmosphere that keeps things entertaining. On the flip side, though, there have been a few grumbles about some events, like that singer who didn't quite hit the right notes and ended up butchering a few classics – a real shame when the sun's out and you'd fancy lingering for another round. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, as long as you go in with realistic expectations about the extras. I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area; just keep an eye on the schedule to avoid any off days!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and make everyone feel right at home, even if you're just popping in for a quick pint.
  • They've got a cracking selection of real ales at really affordable prices, which is always a winner for a good night out.
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly, so you can bring your four-legged mate along without any fuss.
  • The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, especially after local events like football matches, making it a great spot for a chat and a laugh.
  • Even as a stranger, you'll feel properly included – the regulars are chatty and make new faces feel part of the gang.
Cons
  • Some entertainment, like that Jubilee singer, can fall flat and spoil the vibe, leaving you wanting to head off earlier than planned.
  • It's not clear if they do much in the way of food, which might be a downside if you're after a bite with your drinks.

This establishment is so friendly , awsome owners and friendly clientele. I only pop in for a pint wen passing on my bike but as a stranger I always feel proper welcome cause they chat to me me whether I chat first or not. The HARE AND HOUNDS is a place to be I dont know if they do food but if they did I'm 100% sure it would satisfy

I've only ever been here after a match at Padiham FC which may skew my experience but it's always lively with a good selection of beers. If it was more local to me there's no doubt I'd be in here more regularly.

Pub was great, welcoming atmosphere and good drink selection. The jubilee singer though wasn't great, he was butchering a lot of our favourite songs so we left. Shame because the atmosphere was good and the sun came out so we would have probably stayed for a few more drinks if it wasn't for the entertainment
