About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Queens Head – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back afternoon or evening. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is where they really shine; folks are going on about their Sunday lunches like it's some kind of culinary magic, with roasts that are tender, flavoursome, and paired with perfect Yorkshire puds and spuds. The team running the place are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which creates this lovely community feel. It's spot on for families too, with outdoor spaces and a garden that's great for kids to run around in, plus handy touches like parking and baby facilities that make life easier. On the flip side, though, it's cash only, so you might need to hit the ATM first, and if you're a footie fan hoping to catch a match, you're out of luck since they don't have the sports channels – which, to be fair, might be a blessing if you're after a peaceful pint. All in all, with a solid 4.5 rating from plenty of happy visitors, it's a gem in Wormley that's worth a try, but just keep those little niggles in mind for a smoother experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, especially those Sunday roasts – think melt-in-your-mouth lamb, crispy pork crackling, and stellar beef that everyone's raving about.
-
The staff and owners are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot with outdoor areas, a lovely garden, and even a baby changing facility, perfect for a relaxed day out.
-
Great for social gatherings and parties, with a welcoming atmosphere where the locals are just as chatty and nice as the team behind the bar.
-
Convenient parking and it's open every day from midday till 11pm, so you can pop in whenever the mood strikes.
Cons
-
It's cash only, which can be a bit of a hassle if you're used to tapping your card or phone.
-
No sports channels like Sky or BT, so if you're after watching the big game, you might need to look elsewhere.
-
The website's a bit basic and doesn't give much info, which could make planning a visit trickier if you're not local.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Came here for Sunday lunch with the family. Absolutely amazing. Between us we had roast Beef, Lamb and Pork. Each one was a 10 out of 10. The lamb shank just fell off the bone. The crackling on the pork was amazing. Beef just stunning. Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes. The staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming. Will definitely come back to this gem of a place. PS apple pie and custard was fabulous.
What an amazing place, very friendly owners, even the customers are very friendly. I felt so happy while I was there. Highly recommend.
Nice place, welcoming. Cash only. Drinks & Food. Family friendly. Outdoor areas, garden. Baby changing area in the ladies toilet. Parking is available. Overall, a nice pub to visit.
Great pub especially for party's so nice and good people / staff 😀 👍
Nice local pub. People are a pleasure to meet and converse with. The food served if something to see or, importantly, try. But a pub that is probably underrated but made fantastic by the staff that run a great establishment. Great garden. No sky or BT sport, which probably helps the pub! Now has the garden with new benches and the trees cut back to allow my sun into the garden. Brand new section with a covered BBQ, but this isn't your standard BBQ this is gourmet BBQ. Food is unbelievable. Easy for me to say, but you must visit and try. Reasonably priced
