About This Pub

Ah, Cast Iron Bar & Grill at the Marriott Hotel – it's one of those places that has its charms but isn't without a few bumps along the way. On the upside, I've heard some lovely things about the food; a couple of reviews raved about the buffet being surprisingly good and the team there being spot on with their service, making it feel welcoming for a relaxed meal. It's tucked away in a hotel, which gives it that extra bit of atmosphere if you're after something a tad more refined. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing – a few have had a rough time with dishes that were bland and not worth the money, like that disappointing Sunday lunch, and then there's the frustration with parking fines that cropped up for at least one visitor. With an average rating hovering around 3.4 from a handful of reviews back in 2019, it's got potential but might need a fresh look if you're planning a visit. All in all, if you're in the Cheshunt area and fancy giving it a go, it's worth popping in for the positives, but keep an eye on the costs and maybe sort out that parking in advance to avoid any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food can be really decent, especially for a buffet – one reviewer absolutely loved it and said it was fab.
  • Staff and management are accommodating and make you feel welcome, which adds a nice touch to the experience.
  • It's a pleasant spot for a meal in a hotel setting, with some calling it a nice place to eat overall.
Cons
  • Some meals, like the Sunday lunch, have been described as tasteless and overpriced, leaving a few disappointed.
  • There are issues with parking, including fines even after registering, which has put some people off completely.
  • It can feel a bit pricey, as one person noted, which might not suit everyone looking for a casual night out.

Awful, and I had to pay a fine for parking and I put my reg in the tablet and the appeal was rejected. Never going there again
