About This Pub

Ah, The Queen's Head – it's one of those proper local pubs in Cubbington that really hits the spot if you're after a good pint and a chat. The real ales are top-notch, with a cracking variety that keeps things interesting and draws in the beer aficionados. The staff are absolute gems, always cheerful and making sure everyone feels welcome, which adds to that warm, homely feel. It's got this lovely old-school atmosphere that makes you want to settle in for the evening, whether you're playing darts or just nattering away in the lounge. On the flip side, it's mostly blokes in there, so it might not be the most comfortable spot for anyone flying solo, particularly women, as it can come across as a bit of a lads' haunt. And honestly, the toilets are a real letdown – that stale beer pong and grime could put a damper on things if you're not prepared. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back night out, especially if you're up for a traditional pub experience, but it's worth keeping those niggles in mind before you head over.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The real ales are fantastic – there's a great selection of alternative brews that any beer enthusiast would love.
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always greeting you with a smile that makes you feel right at home.
  • It has a charming, nostalgic atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends.
  • The lounge area is comfortable and cosy, with a nice vibe for chatting or watching the telly.
Cons
  • The crowd can be quite male-dominated, which might make it feel a bit intimidating for women popping in on their own.
  • The toilets, especially the men's, are in a dreadful state – the smell and cleanliness leave a lot to be desired.

An amazing pub where you step back in time to a forgotten time. Great staff who are happy to see you and welcome you with a collate smile. Such a beautiful atmosphere that my friends and I enjoy everytime we visit.

All in all, it is reasonable as a pub. Atmosphere fairly good. It is slightly threatening if a single woman as it is a man's pub, 99% male drinkers. Room for improvement is definitely the maleToilets. These are truly disgusting, the smell and cleanliness is a zero. A smell of stagnant beer from behind the bar. God knows what the kitchen is like. However, a very polite and positive bar maid.

Visited on a Sunday evening with my partner. There are 2 bars, Public and Lounge. Popular with Locals who gather for a chat/watch tv or play darts etc. I do not know if they do food. Pleasant staff and a nice atmoshere. It has recently recieved a coat of paint so quite nice.

Friendly bar, comfortable lounge serving the best beer in the area. Heaven for Real Ale lovers as there's always a good range on and not the usual boring ones!!!
