About This Pub

Ah, The Queens Arms – it's one of those places that feels like a proper British hideaway, all discreetly stylish and tucked into a peaceful mews near the hustle of South Kensington. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's smashing for a relaxed meal or a catch-up over drinks; the food really shines with creative takes on classics, and folks rave about the fish and chips or that indulgent Sunday roast. The drink selection is brilliant too, with a solid range of ales and wines that could keep you chatting for hours. On the flip side, it's not without its downsides – prices can sting a bit, especially for a pint, and some dishes might leave you feeling a tad short-changed with their portions. Plus, the bathrooms aren't always up to scratch, and it might not have that buzzing energy if you're in the mood for something more lively. Overall, it's a solid choice for a memorable outing, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and perhaps plan for a budget-friendly visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious twists on British classics like fish and chips or a hearty Sunday roast, with plenty of positive feedback on the flavours.
  • It's got a great selection of drinks, from cask ales and craft beers to fine wines, making it a top choice for a proper pint or a cheeky cocktail.
  • The staff are really attentive and friendly, especially during special occasions like Christmas, which adds to that warm, welcoming vibe.
  • Tucked away in a quiet mews near South Kensington, it's a hidden gem that's perfect for a relaxed escape, especially if you're exploring the nearby museums.
Cons
  • Drinks can be on the pricey side, with some pints reaching £7.25, which might make you think twice if you're watching your wallet.
  • Portions aren't always generous, like the vegan roast or pasta dishes that feel a bit small for the price, leaving you wanting more.
  • The bathrooms could do with some TLC, as they've been described as not well-kept, which is a shame in an otherwise nice spot.
  • The atmosphere might feel a tad quiet or lacking in buzz at times, especially if you're after a lively, energetic pub experience.

Not much going on atmosphere wise. Located in a peaceful side street. We didn’t order any food so I can’t comment on that. We had a couple of ciders and this place sets a new record for the most expensive ciders I’ve had in the UK at 7.25 pounds a pint. The cheapest being 2 pounds. Crazy because the place isn’t special in any way.

Lots of care going into this pub. The food and service were great. The Fish and chips were delicious. The pasta was a small portion for the price, but very tasty. the bathrooms were not well kept.

Great small pub slightly hidden away in a typical London Mews street which is nice too visit if you're not familiar with these and close to museums so could be good stop when other places are busy. Good selection of beers with larger and cask ales for folks to try and nice food menu.

We visited as a group of 4 for Sunday roasts. It was disappointing that the vegan roast option was the same price as the vegetarian and meat roasts, but significantly smaller and no money taken off when Yorkshire pudding was removed. It was a small portion for £19. The nut roast was delicious though. The staff were quite quiet and didn’t seem happy to be there.

We were there for your Christmas Day meal! The atmosphere was festive, the staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. We are from the states and we did not expect much, but we were delighted and satisfied! Thank you for making our Christmas Day special!
