About This Pub

Ah, The Queens Arms in Didcot – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a home away from home, you know? From the reviews I've seen, it's got this brilliant atmosphere where you can pop in for a casual drink and end up staying for hours, chatting away with the locals. There's a real buzz around the place, especially with things like pool tables, darts, and even Aunt Sally to dive into, plus it's ace for live music or watching the footie. It's no wonder it's racking up a solid 4.4 rating overall – most people are singing its praises for being a welcoming spot that brings folks together. But, to keep it real, there are a couple of downsides that cropped up in the feedback. One chap mentioned getting a bit of a rough time from the barman over ID, which isn't ideal and might leave a sour taste if you're not prepared. Still, with so many positive vibes and it being open most days, I'd say it's worth checking out if you're in the area – just go in with an open mind and maybe have your ID sorted just in case. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, balancing the good times with a few things to watch out for.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is spot on – it's a proper friendly spot where you can relax and chat with mates over a pint.
  • Plenty of activities to keep things lively, like pool, darts, and even Aunt Sally, making it a fun night out.
  • It's a great place for live music and catching the latest sports, which really adds to the buzz.
  • Folks love it as a local favourite, with a welcoming vibe that draws in people from all walks of life.
Cons
  • There have been a few grumbles about rude staff, especially when it comes to ID checks – not the warmest welcome for everyone.
  • The online presence is a bit lacking, with no website or verified info, so it might be tricky to get the latest updates before heading over.
  • Some reviews hint at inconsistencies, like potential issues with verifying IDs, which could spoil the experience for younger visitors.

Went into this pub with my fiancé and her mum and dad Presented my Yoti citizens card to be told they don’t accept this id because a lot of fakes are made . This was a real yoti card and valid identity. Bare in mind I’m 26 years old I said the the very rude barman and said if he scanned the qr code on the back in comes with the government approved website that confirms this when I spoke to him he rudely interrupted me and refused this Awful customer service and the pub stank like piss Unlucky they missed out on 30 quids of drinks If you can’t tell a fake from a real id you shouldn’t be working behind the bar ! NEVER COMING BACK

Best pub in Didcot in my opinion, good atmosphere, play some pool or some darts, great for live music and watching sports. The landlord is running it well. Keep up the good work !
