About This Pub
You know, when I think about Broadways in Didcot, it's got that classic pub feel that's comforting in a way – like popping in for a chat and a drink with friends. The staff can be absolutely brilliant at times, really making an effort to help out, and the Sunday roasts sound like an absolute treat, with tasty beef, crispy potatoes, and all the trimmings at a price that won't break the bank. Plus, if you're into sports, there are loads of TVs to catch the action, and the extended outside area is a nice touch for when the weather's on your side. It's got a great pool table too, which adds a fun element for a game or two. But honestly, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard from a few folks that the service can turn sour with rude attitudes, and the food might arrive cold or tasting like it's been zapped in the microwave, which is a real letdown. The decor feels a bit outdated, and the toilets are something you'd want to avoid if you can – not exactly the cleanest. Overall, it's a mixed bag, but if you're local and in the mood for a casual night out, it might still be worth giving it a go, just keep your expectations in check and maybe stick to the drinks if the grub's a gamble.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
Friendly and helpful staff who make you feel right at home, especially when they're going the extra mile with service.
-
Great value for money, like those delicious Sunday roasts that come in at half the price of elsewhere and leave you well satisfied.
-
A clean and welcoming atmosphere with plenty of TVs showing live sports, perfect for catching the game with mates.
-
The outside seating area's been nicely extended, making it a lovely spot for a drink on a sunny day.
-
A solid pool table for a bit of fun, as long as you get there early enough to enjoy it.
Cons
-
Some experiences with rude staff and poor attitudes, which can really put a dampener on your visit.
-
Food that's often cold or seems microwaved, leaving you wishing for something fresher and hotter.
-
Dated decor that feels a bit tired and could do with a refresh to keep things more inviting.
-
Disgusting toilets that aren't always up to standard, which is a shame for such a key part of the pub experience.
-
Limited options for cider lovers, with mostly bottled fruity ones rather than a wider selection of traditional choices.

So though we would give it a try we’ll couldn’t have been more wrong to go their food is cold and seems microwaved.. the staff were extremely rude my plate was thrown on the table decor is really dated toilet were disgusting skid marks in the pan the staff all had attitudes especially the land lady we will never go back the place needs shutting down or new owners who actually want to work and serve customers so disappointing
Nice clean pub good value friendly staff with plenty TVs with live sport
Delicious roast beef, amazing crispy roast potatoes, huge selection of aldente seasonal vegetables, fantastic Yorkshire pudding topped off with lovely gravy. Amazing, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Half the price of other less enjoyable Sunday roasts.
I can't believe this incredible food is right on my doorstep but I'd never been in there.
Finished off our meal with a gorgeous chocolate gateaux and an apple pie with custard.
I'm amazed this place isn't absolutely heaving given the quality of the food and the incredible customer service
Thank you so very much to all the staff
Very interesting place. Really great pool table but closed off at 10pm on a Friday so they could put a DJ and disco lights on for basically no one..? Can see how it would be a fun place if it was busier, or maybe we were just there too early.
I haven't been into Broadways for years but I would definitely say it has improved. However as a cider drinker, Strongbow and lots of bottled fruity things aren't my thing. That's my opinion of course. The outside seating area has been extended, much, much nicer than it used to be!
