About This Pub
Ah, The Quarry Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Whitley Bay. I've got to say, the beer flows nicely and pairs brilliantly with their menu; think tasty Sunday roasts and other hearty bites that won't break the bank. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to that warm, welcoming vibe. It's spot on for watching the rugby or popping in for a family meal. On the flip side, though, it's dog-friendly to a fault sometimes – the barking can turn a peaceful catch-up into a bit of a racket, especially on days like Mother's Day when you're after some quiet time. And while most visits are spotless, there was that one off-putting incident with plastic in the food, which makes you think twice about being extra cautious. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good night out, but just keep those little niggles in mind if you're after a perfectly serene pint.

Cons
-
Sometimes the dogs can get a bit too lively, leading to barking that disrupts a quiet meal, like on busy days.

-
Service might not always handle complaints as smoothly as you'd hope, leaving you feeling a tad underwhelmed.

Great spot to watch the rugby. Good beer and good food menu. Boss man and his wife good craic. Regardless of other posts, it is a dog friendly place. Great bacon stottie!
Food was great like every other visit to this pub. Staff are always lovely. But today the amount of dogs barking was to much. I love animals but today was to much especially for mothers day. Wanted peaceful dinner to chat with family. Wouldn't stop me eating here again. Thank you for the flower 🌼
Went for lunch today after a hike with my partner We both ordered Sunday lunch pre-ordered A trio of meats He then found a piece of white plastic which he thought was a bone and when looking at it properly found out was plastic we told the staff And they didn't look too pleased with us she tried to tell us that there was nothing in the kitchen with white plastic and didn't know how we got there. I left my food and we left with a bitter atmosphere when we were paying our bill she took the price Of the chicken off Absolutely Disgraceful service it could've been dealt with much better won't be going back again We should at least had one refund for of the meal It could've been a child Who ate That
Visited today with the family for Sunday lunch. Lovely pub, great atmosphere and staff were really friendly. The service and quality of food was excellent - all good value too at £10.95 for an adults chicken, beef, pork or nut roast Sunday lunch. Kids Sunday lunch was £9.95. Excellent portion sizes.
Only one downside, there was no chicken by the time (3:30pm) we sat for lunch.
After dinner, we pushed ourselves and shared a couple of puddings - both also very good quality and value!
We all really enjoyed our dinners and we will definitely be back - we normally have lunch around 2pm, so I’m hoping we’ll be early enough to get the choice of chicken next time too!
** Updated ** visited 13th November and had the chicken Sunday lunch. Great pub, great food, lovely staff. Would go as far to say this is now my favourite pub in Whitley Bay 👍🏻
A lovely surprise this evening with dinner out on a Thursday.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. Neck oil on tap and what a delicious pint that is.
Food included macaroni cheese bites, chicken breast dippers and a pizza and the pizza was so cheesy.
Staff could not have been more attentive!
