About This Pub

Ah, The Quadrant – it's one of those pubs that really hits the mark for a casual get-together, especially if you're near Old Trafford and fancy a drink before or after a match. I love how it's got this inviting feel with its traditional timber and tiling mixed with a modern touch, and the bar's just superb for choosing from their excellent range of beers, gins, and spirits. It's perfect for sports enthusiasts too, with all that memorabilia and live screens making it buzz with excitement. The staff come across as genuinely friendly, which always makes a visit more pleasant, and there are nice touches like live music and a beer garden that add to the fun. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few grumbles about the food not always being on offer or the menu being limited, which could put a dampener on things if you're hoping for a bite. It does get packed, and that might mean fewer drink choices when it's heaving, so it's worth bearing in mind if you're planning a quiet one. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good time with mates, as long as you go in with realistic expectations – the drinks and vibe are winners, but the food side needs a bit of sorting.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is spot on – it's got that lovely mix of modern vibes and traditional charm with timber woodwork and great tiling, making it feel welcoming and homely.
  • They've got an ace selection of drinks, including award-winning lagers, cask ales, and a brilliant gin and rum menu, plus some tempting special offers like Fizz Friday.
  • It's brilliant for sports fans, being right near Old Trafford and the cricket ground, with loads of memorabilia, big TVs showing live action on Sky Sports and TNT, and even a pool table for a bit of fun.
  • The staff are really friendly and provide good service, as mentioned in a few reviews, which makes popping in for a pint all the more enjoyable.
  • There are plenty of facilities to suit everyone, like a beer garden, live music, and it's child-friendly and dog-friendly, so you can bring the family or your furry mate along.
Cons
  • Food service seems a bit unreliable – some folks have said it's not always available, and when it is, parts of the menu might be off, which is a shame if you're after a proper meal.
  • It can get really busy, especially on match days, and that might mean they stop serving certain drinks like the Holt Bitter, leaving you with just lager options.
  • A couple of reviews mentioned it's not quite as good as it used to be, so it might have lost a bit of its sparkle in places, which is a pity for a pub with such a great location.

I stopped by on a Saturday evening and I saw that they have a DJ on (Taxi Wayne) playing some nice tunes. It's a pretty good pub. Good service

Great pub, nice staff and a cracking pint... Nipped in for a beer and was pleasantly surprised. Really nice pub atmosphere and a handsome building. I was recommended their stout and wasn't disappointed. Shame I could only stay for one...

Used to be really good, but the lack of food service lately has really let it down. Used to love coming before the cricket for a meal and now you can’t guarantee food will be on and when it is, half the menu is unavailable.

First time visit. An ok-ish pub. We went here looking for food before the cricket as they don't serve any at the Tollgate, but they didn't appear to be serving food here either. It was very busy. The Holt Bitter was nice enough, but they stopped serving this when it got busier. Lager only. Watch out for short measures / large heads on the pints. They did top up when asked, but I saw many people who didn't bother asking.

Stopped off for a quick bite to eat after a day out. We were served quickly and within a reasonable amount of time. The food was good quality, the only little tiny gripe would be the burger patty could have done with being a little flatter (see photo) and filling more of the bun, tasted great though. Prices are competitive with rival brands in the market.
