About This Pub

Ah, The Q Inn, it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, tucked away on Market Street in Stalybridge. From what I've gathered, it's got this warm, buzzing vibe that's perfect for sinking into a comfy spot with a pint of something tasty – the selection of beers and ales is spot on, and at such reasonable prices, you can really make a night of it without worrying about the tab. The huge beer garden is a real highlight, especially on those rare sunny evenings, and being dog-friendly adds a nice touch if you're popping in with your four-legged mate. But, like any place, it's not without its quirks; I did hear about a time when staff weren't too accommodating during a bit of lively celebrating, which might leave you feeling a tad deflated if you're in high spirits. Oh, and those owner dogs wandering about could be a minor hassle for anyone with a nervous pet. Overall, though, with a solid 4.3 rating from folks who've been there, it's clear this spot does a lot right – I'd say it's worth a visit for a relaxed pint, just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of beers and ales, perfect for anyone who loves a good pint – it's got that real ale charm we've all come to appreciate.
  • The atmosphere is spot on; it's welcoming and friendly, making it a top spot for a relaxed evening with mates.
  • Huge beer garden that's ideal for sunnier days or just getting some fresh air while enjoying a drink.
  • It's dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're out with your furry friend, adding to that homely feel.
  • Prices are really reasonable, so you won't break the bank for a night out, and they've got a variety of events like quizzes and live music to keep things lively.
Cons
  • There was an instance where staff handled a customer's excitement a bit poorly, which could put a dampener on things if you're in the mood to celebrate.
  • The owner's dogs roaming around might not suit everyone, especially if your own dog gets a bit nervous around unfamiliar ones, so it's worth keeping in mind.

Huge back garden. Wasn't aware the owner has their own dogs off lead on the premises (two friendly Beagles), so didn't stay too long as my own dog gets nervous around unfamiliar dogs.

Absolutely poor behaviour myself husband and friends were in Q bar 1 of our local pubs we have frequented over the years and a female staff member served my husband beers and shots, then when he got a little excited as man city has won the league, and was celebrating she decided to refuse him some beer and send the bouncers round to get him out, pretty disgusting and won't go in either pub again, this is how you treat locals
