It's this neat micro pub right in the heart of Stalybridge, where they've got an excellent lineup of their own brews and some cracking local beers on tap – I mean, who could resist that? The atmosphere is just lovely, all cosy and inviting, and the staff are dead friendly, always up for a chat, which makes it easy to strike up conversations with the regulars. It's got that community feel that you don't always find these days. On the flip side, though, it's only open four days a week, so you'll have to plan around those closures on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the Sunday hours can vary, so it's worth double-checking before you head out. The space is on the small side too, which might not suit if you're after somewhere more spacious. All in all, if you're a fan of quality real ale and don't mind the quirks, it's well worth a visit – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself!
