About This Pub
Ah, The Punch Bowl in Nottingham – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its cosy vibe and a solid menu that's got something for all tastes, whether you're after a hearty Sunday roast or something lighter in the beer garden. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels at home, which is just lovely for catching up with mates or enjoying a family gathering. It's got that community feel, being dog-friendly and right near some great spots for a wander, with free parking to boot. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing; a few have mentioned waiting ages for their meals, and there are tales of food not quite hitting the mark, like burgers that are a bit too chewy or cold deliveries that leave you scratching your head. Still, with an overall solid rating, I'd say it's worth a go if you're in the area – just keep your expectations in check and maybe pop in when it's not too busy to get the best of it. All in all, it's a decent spot for a relaxed pint and a bite, but like any place, it has its ups and downs.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food selection is fantastic, with options for everyone including fixed-price menus, kids' choices, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and a special Sunday menu – it's a real treat for a family meal or a casual bite.
-
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a spacious beer garden and a dog-friendly policy, making it perfect for relaxing with friends or bringing the family and furry companions.

-
It's conveniently located near attractions like King Edward Park and has free parking, plus it's easy to get to from nearby areas like Derby.
Cons
-
There can be long waits for food, like up to 55 minutes in some cases, which might put a dampener on your visit if you're in a hurry.
-
Food quality isn't always spot on; some dishes have been described as tough or cold, and deliveries can be particularly disappointing with portions looking like leftovers.
-
It has mixed reviews recently, with a few folks feeling let down by the experience, so it might not live up to expectations every time.

Really disappointed we went in last Friday, after waiting 55 mins to actually get our food with no apology for the wait my burger arrived looks amazing but the meat was so tough I struggled to eat it my partner said his fish and ships was ok but defo wouldn’t have it again i understand it being busy I’ve worked in hospitality my self but busyness should be an excuse for lack of quality. The pub looked beautiful the fresh paint really brightens it up but a change needs to be made within the kitchen when it’s busy because an hour wait for fish chips and a overcooked burger is a joke this is our local but we definitely won’t be returning for food
A lovely pub/restaurant, staff were lovely and accommodating. Service was great. Food was promptly served and of a very good quality. Happy to recommend
we won voucher online for an amount to spend here.

Will definitely come back
First day of opening. The place looks fab! A great vibe and such a friendly atmosphere.
Staff are amazing, as always.
New landlady Steph and partner Ryan are on it. Good luck guys!
I ordered the trio of roasts via Deliveroo and I’m honestly shocked that this was even sent out. For £19, what I received looked like scraps off someone else’s plate. There was no beef in sight, the gammon and turkey were rock solid—like they’d been left out all day—and everything was stone cold. The portion of vegetables was tiny, and the entire meal was completely unappetising. It’s disgusting that anyone thought this was acceptable to serve, let alone charge nearly £20 for. I would never recommend this place to anyone. An absolute disgrace.
